" Casual Internet users who merely send e-mail messages, check movie times and read the news are not likely to exceed the caps. But people who watch television shows on Hulu.com, rent movies on iTunes or play the multiplayer game Halo on Xbox may start to exceed the limits — and millions of people are already doing those things."
Or play MMO's I might add.

Ya, its bad here as well in Canada. My current internet subscription is sub par; $45.99 like shitty med. lvl speeds when more was promised [and supposedly its my comp (more than capable), or my location (downtown toronto, one of north americas largest cities), or my peanut covered wiring and modem (supplied by my ISP)] and 60 Gigs Up/Down a month limit...
I can't wait to switch, and will do so very soon.
P.S. I'm with B3LL |

Yep. Bell is made up of a bunch of assholes. I refuse to get anything from them other then the basic phone line. Even then I'm debating going over to voice over IP just to completely rid myself of them. They are intentionally capping pier to pier traffic over their phone lines. My buddy says his cable internet provided by Rogers is better and they're giving him quite the high speed downloads and less BS. Notice I say less because I'm sure there are people out there that have issues with them too. |

SCULLY: What do you think? MULDER: I can''t believe how much faith we put in machines. |
This whole thing makes no sense to me. Why do they keep advertising faster Internet speeds but then cap bandwidth? I know that there is no monopoly involved here, but it seems like our options are still somewhat limited. At least to the extent where we're not given any choice that will make these companies actually compete with one another. |
