Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

Yes yes we all know how well Funcom did with their PR and hype. And I still can't stop laughing that the Sims is #2...I'm sorry! Lol.

Props to them.  They have one hell of a marketing department even with a new game.  Now, look at #4, #6, and #7.  Now that is for an almost four year old MMORPG.  Do you even see any other MMORPG on the list?  LOL, nope.  Think about that, four year later and still the #4 hottest game sold game in the US.  Amazing.

What MMO release in 2008 lost half its player base in the first month after massive hype of non existent features?" ed2099

"What is Age of Conan? ... Correct, for $50, Ed!"

Wait a second, what is your point?  You brag about how well AoC is doing and I point out that WoW was #4, #6, and #7 with a four year old game and you come back with "US PC gaming is pretty much dead."  LMAO

Well, World of Warcraft is and will continue to be the Sims of MMOs. Easy to get into and something for everyone.

Maybe he wasn't bragging, just saying people have to settle for AoC because the PC market is dead.

Heh, the point of this thread is very similar to the hype that Funcom spins out of their PR marketers. "Look, we jut launched  game and our sales are up 1500%"  Well, yeh, no shit.  You JUST launched.  Of course your sales are higher than they have ever been.  As another poster pointed out, if they can be in that spot after four years, THAT is omething worth noting.  (That said, I am sick of hearing about how many players WoW has claimed to have sucked in.  Not a bad game.  But... PLEASE shut up.)
