On the Senator boards he requested a classic server.  Of course (yet nonetheless  dissapointing) the other senators quickly stated why it was a bad idea or could not be done...

Well I guess 3 years is still not enough time to pull their heads from their butts.

Seeing as how it's been what, 2 years or so, since the NGE hit (almost 3?) I would wager that the paltry few left in SWG support the NGE system.  These are the people that felt overwhelmed by the games original 32 some odd skill paths, the ability to mix and match as suited the players fancy, the ability to make your own way through a virtual world space without some programmer telling you what you should be doing at every given moment of playtime.

The NGE was a complete success (*ducks*).  It drove away the existing fan base and brought in a more simpler and casual crowd.  While the NGE can keep running in this day and age, had this been the system that was initially launched it would have fallen flat on its face.

Hopefully, if there is a new Star Wars MMO, the NGE crowd will stay far the <bleep> away.

Currently Subscribed to: NOTHING, but will be playing WAR.

One word........WOW!

my father once told me that young fools, become old fools.  what better statement than the developers of this game!

Even some of the asskissers ('senators') are beginning to realize the game is dying at an increased rate.  Most of them are still in denial (such as Badgersmacker), but look for many more shills to come out of the woodwork and begin posting on these, and other, forums.  Even the hardcore fanbois are seeing the writing on the wall, and they will start an all out blitz in a futile attempt to save their game.

I suspect the quality of development on SWG is going to increase pretty soon as well, because the folks working on it will be trying to get promoted to the DCO project.

Arkon had been "bucking up" lately.  Even went so far as disagreeing with the devs on nerfs to jedi.  Although, he quickly went silent.  Probably got that pm saying, "hush or lose that senator tag".

He had to know, after all the many threads deleted on the gameplay section on classic servers, that this 1 would be shut down too.

Maybe, even Arkon is in a form of protest mode now, too.

Actually, almost every current player of SWG who dates back to pre-CU misses that old game, and preferred it to now. I know of ONE current player who prefers the NGE. That player is Obraik of Chilastra.

To a man, I have never met another soul who likes the NGE. many who tolerate, but none who like.

I fall into that tolerate camp. For now, it is still the only Star Wars MMO, but hopefully that will be changing soon.
