Lucky for them it was not a US Air Force plane with a US Air Force pilot, otherwise the headline would have read something like this, "Pentagon denies responsibility for deaths of two British Police Officers".

great story. here is another mildly amuzing one

“Four youths from Canberra, Australia pulled off a trick of breathtaking bravado in order to gain revenge on a mobile speed camera van operating in the area.

Three of the group approached the van and distracted the operator’s attention by asking a series of questions about how the equipment worked and how many cars the operator could catch in a day.

Meanwhile, the fourth musketeer sneaked to the front of the van and unscrewed its numberplate.

After bidding the van operator goodbye, the friends returned home, fixed the number plate to their car and drove through the camera’s radar at high speed – 17 times. As a result, the automated billing system issued 17 speeding tickets to itself.”

hey now give the US some credit, we averted disaster with them iranian thrill seekers in the gulf waters a while back. 5 years of war makes our all volunteer forces better!

funny retort, however.

We should have just said GTFO once then blow the hell out of them. If they declared war we could have leveled the country in a few weeks. But no we had to give them more then one warning. Also ive met a few pilots and they would have done the same as the EU pilot. You cant be stupid and get to fly a $22 million peice of equipment.

Not true, your honor. I offer up George Dubya Bush as exhibit #1 to disprove this theory.

Look, anyone who tries to land a perfectly good airplane on the postage stamp size deck of an aircraft carrier bobbing up and down in the ocean cannot be considered "all there" mentally.
