I know there has been years of speculation about this, but recently in general chat in Tabula Rasa someone said they read somewhere that Bioware is starting alpha testing for a KoTR MMO. Anyone have some solid evidence on this. I have been longing for a game like that like a fat man longs for a life time supply of twinkies. So any real proof would be excellent.

Not a chance. if they were in alpha they would have already started showing videos and be doing early marketing. The fact that the game hasn't even been announced yet means they can't even be in beta. I'd tack on 2-3 years after the game is announced (if there is a game) to ge a rough release date.

some of the people layed off by lucas arts were hinting at a kotor 3 by bioware, but that doesnt say much about an mmorpg game. Probably not, or if it is, it'll be like kotor, which makes for a craptastic mmo, not a pre-cu like swg, but more a mashup of wow and post-nge swg

There's no chance of Bioware of putting out a product that even remotely resembles PreCU SWG, sorry bud.  Despite the fact that nearly everyone on these boards like to circle jerk when they talk about Bioware the fact remains that Bioware isn't very good at anything besides telling a linear story in a convincing and interesting fashion.  They have good writers.

Was there anything amazing or innovative about either KOTOR or Mass Effect?  No.  The games stood entirely on their story development (Bioware's true talent).  If you extrapolate the one thing they can do well to an MMO you have a boring and linear story driven quest grind of an MMO.

I.E. a game that sucks.  Expect heavy instancing and small parties (basically the same crap as Guild Wars and AoC).  There will be nothing innovative or amazing about a Bioware MMO and it sure as shit won't be a community driven sandbox, I'll guarantee that.

Earthrise looks pretty cool, I am playing TR currently because of fucking tired of orcs elves and bows and arrows. I was thinking of picking up AoC but the more I read the more it sounds like Vanguard, the only thing different is SoE doesn't have ties to it, yet.
