Age of Conan

Well we all know the TRUE % number is what YOU rate this game, because everyone is different. I rate it a 8, however the haters rate it a 1 out of 10 and uttery think this game is nothing but a steaming pile of dog dump.

However, we also know by me posting this information will warrant me as a advertiser. I will be subjected as a plant from Funcom to stir more business for AoC on this website. I will be nicknamed a Fanboy to this game since I play it and they don't. <<'Ok, I guess I can live with that, even though it isnt true'>>

**known fact** Did'nt you know MMORPG.COM is the site that every gamer goes by and all the players talk the truth here as well. If the game sucks, it must truly suck. We are the hardcore elitist of mmorpg's and we know this industry all too well.

Anyways, if the player base from MMORPG.COM is giving this game a average 1 to 8 stars, then the publishers from these companys are all lying to us.

You see, these folks are not telling the truth because they can't. They are just being nice to Funcom since it their 2nd only mmorpg to hit the market and don't want to hurt the company with bad publicity sinc Funcom funds them $$$

Saying those websites are publishers is misleading. They are editorial websites(technically I guess they publish their own website).

I never believe any review from a company that receives advertising from a publisher or developer. I'm not saying they are always wrong, I'm just saying they don't have as much incentive to tell the truth. In fact, gamespot.com fired an editor, because the editor gave a game a bad review(kane and lynch). Of course, gamespot tried to claim it was for some other reason.

I've been burned too many times by a magazine or website claiming some game is super awesome. Recently it was Dark Messiah. A lot of magazines and websites rated it over a 7, which to me is a decent game. They probably bumped the score up by a point.

Ahhh.... very impressive.  Put some thought into this I see.  Numbers don't lie ........ I think I'm gonna go out tomorrow and pick up the game.  It quite simply "IS" a 9.0 (average) game as it stands.  I think that's an "A" in some parts of the US.  Damn ...... that even beats the MMORPG.Com user rating.

  I cannot honestly tell if your post is dripping with sarcasm, or completely lacking of it.  It boggles my mind, and I think that, IF you are being massively sarcastic, that you deserve a gold star.  You got even me, and I BREATHE sarcasm.

  I wouldn't look at any review site twice, they are all tainted goods as far as I'm concerned.  Judging from what I see, I think AoC deserves a high score.  But a 9?  Oh hell no, they didn't even TRY hard enough to earn a 9 in my book.  The best games ever to grace a screen haven't even received a 9....in no way does this slice of poop pie deserve it.  NO MMO does, when compared against some of the best games ever produced.

Let's put this in perspective.

EIDOS pays advertising dollars to all of those websites because EIDOS has a new AAA MMOG coming out.  Do you honestly think after cashing a EIDOS check for tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, they'd write anything other than flattering reviews?  Once the checks have cleared the bank and the game has been out six plus months and EIDOS is no longer in the middle of major marketing campaigns, i.e. writing big checks to these websites/magazines is when you'll start see the real reviews come in.  And then, you won't see a company burn bridges with EIDOS.  They write too many checks.

Why not check out AoC's forum to see what the people playing it think?

Wasn't there speculation over a Gamespot employee being fired after giving an Eidos game a bad review when the site was sporting a large ad campaign for said game?
