Life is a journey. Death, oh now death...that is an adventure!

Why can people not like more than one game, or any game they like? Why can people not prefer one game over another without people tearing at them?  Simple post, and there is a simple answer....but i want to see what this fair community can generate.

We used to get along just fine.  Then the NGE hit, and we all quickly discovered how linked a game's stability and longevity can be to it's real or apparent popularity.

That is why we flame and attack with such vigor today.  We live in an age where producers and marketing gurus are able to justify the craziest things by what they read on the boards, and what they see in other games.

Because these boards are MMORPG Zion, and everyone wants to be Morpheus when they really should be content as Cypher.

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand" - Randy Pausch

There's nothing wrong with sharing opinions...after all this is a forum.  While people shouldn't mock because others because they play, say, WoW, there is nothign wrong with stating why the game is bad/good in their opinion.  There is nothing wrong with saying why they love this feature but hate the other feature.

Forums are for spreading opinions, always have been and always will.

I am speaking nothing of the opinion sharing i am speaking of the "your an idiot for liking AoC" or "go die for playing WoW"  or the "you need to play my game because yours sucks" talk.

Cynical? Me? Never.

The biggest reason is Anonymity. The second is piss poor moderation on these forums.

An example is on the AOC forums one of the great contributors to the website told someone to "go blow his brains out over the monitor screen". That kind of behavior only attracts more unintelligent VN vermin.

Yep, i have noticed, especially when playing a MMO, that people tend to well be jerks because there are no real social detractors for their behavior.  Its silly really how many people are childlike in mind yet of adult age.  But oh boy doesnt it shine when you put the anominity of the internet before them!
