Playnet Inc and Cornered Rat Software have announced a series of event to celebrate their seventh year of operation, including the reactivation of old accounts and a 14 day free trial.

CORNERED RAT SOFTWARE and PLAYNET INC are pleased to invite you to return to the battlefields of Western Europe to celebrate our 7th year online. We have an exciting week of special events, promotions and prizes lined up for old and new players. We will be re-activating tens of thousands of accounts with a Welcome Back Soldier promotion and inviting new players to join us for the week long celebration with a 14-day Free Trial!

It's been seven years since a small group of developers in Bedford, Texas launched "WWII Online: Blitzkrieg". It was an ambitious project that introduced the gaming world to a new type of play: the MMOFPS. "WWII Online: Blitzkrieg" has evolved into "Battleground Europe", a mature and feature rich game with a dynamic and devoted community. With over 100 accurately modeled weapons available and a game world measuring over 350,000 square miles. "Battleground Europe" remains the most immersive World War II MMOs ever made.

Look for it in China. Try it here again when you get back.

It seems CRS has marketed it in China in the last several months.

Different servers, so they are not connected to the rest of the world, and a few different rules.

ex. anti-addiction code, so you can't be logged on for more than a few hours at a time.

The game has grown so much in the past very few months. Look for more massive changes in the next short while. eg. graphics with Unity 2, graphics engine.

Haha, I forgot all about that.  Maybe I'll look into it.  By the way, have they estimated a release date for Unity 2 yet?
