Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I just returned to Vanguard yesterday after not playing for over a year. When I left, my Wood Elf Shaman named "Gloomcrow" was level 38 with 6 bubs till 39. I ran VT with a couple people and didn't lag AT ALL,, not once!! I couldn't believe it. Last time I played the game I remembered how horrible the lag was in dungeons like VT and Thel. I would hit super lag spikes every 3 minutes which would last 10 for 10-15 seconds each time. To my amazement, none of that happened last night.

Then I went to Dargun's Tomb to run all the quests and once again I didn't have any performance issues AT ALL. Now, whats even more cool is the new features in VG that weren't there when I left. I love the riftway portal system. No more running from VT to Dargun's tomb which used to take about a half hour back in the day. We took the portal to the highlands and rented a Griffon, "which wasn't in game when I quit" to take me to Dargun's Tomb. It took about 5 minutes.  Oh btw, riding the Griffon was a truly awesome experience!

My first day back was worth 15 dollars alone. I'm already halfway to level 40 and don't plan on quitting anytime soon.The game is so much better than it was when I left. I recommend those who tried it at release but quit due to performance issue should really give it another shot. I don't think you'll be disappointed this time around. Vanguard always had a wonderful direction and great design. The only thing really flawed was the performance issues, hitching, and bugs that plagued the game. 90% of the people quit because the game was just unplayable, 10% quit because of the other problems. Now if those 90% people came back, they'd realize how much different and better Vanguard is now. It truly has come a looooong way since release. I still cant get over how good of a job SOE did to revive this game. Wish I came back sooner!!!

Glad to hear you are enjoying your return. 

Performance right now is interesting :)  Somehow, the re-introduced a buff bug, or memory leak that is currently being worked on and should be in a hot-fix soon.  Despite that, if you compare this game to what it was 6 months ago I would definitely expect the performance boost to be significant.  Now, if they could just wrap up this new issue ASAP, I'd be in 7th Heaven.

Only problem is availability ... in my country only option (and curiously cheapest) is Station download ... at 40 USD plus 20% tax.

Unfortunately neither UK or DE branches can deliver video games to my side of EU. We are not in their "list".

Which is too bad, as they have a 10 EUR price I'd consider a trial. :)

Sounds good.  I heard a rumor ati is coming out with new gpu's this month.  Maybe I will take a look.  I've been feeling aimless mmo wise lately and could use an anchor.

I'm curious to know your specs if you don't mind posting them, so I could get an idea what my performance would be.
