I think the way this game started off was horrible, I think it was rushed to market to soon, and was just to "Plain" at launch. Some of the recent news coming out of mmorpg lately though have me thinking about picking it back up and giving it another shot. (keep in mind i have not played since beta so I would think there are a thousands of improvments since then. The big draw for me though is my all time favorite class...the monk. If they implement it even half as good as they make it sound in this article it should be a very nice treat.

Quick note: The monk class was re-introduced in 3.0 not 3.5. And was removed in 4.0. |

I've been playing on Risia, and it's pretty fun. I don't like the implementation of Flurry of Blows (instead of being the monk's alternative to two weapon fighting, it just turns the monk into a full BAB class - I see the reasoning, but I hate that it can be used in conjunction with the two weapon fighting feats), but they are very fun to play in spite of that. The stances and special attacks given by learning different styles are fun, and setting up (and using) finishing moves is absolutely great. I'd say that my monk is at least as fun to play as my barbarian, and my barbarian pwns the funness of most of my other characters. I don't know if the monk will be as fun to play as my rogue (which is str-based, and therefor tends to out-kill most barbarians), but he's definitely giving my rogue a run for his money. If I didn't want to use unarmed combat so much, I'd go for an 11/5 monk/rogue, but monk unarmed damage increases with level, so taking rogue levels would mean that I'd almost have to start using kama or a quarterstaff to keep up with the damage I would be making otherwise. Kind of. I might make one, anyway, just to see what happens. |

The content of this article has been stolen by various gold sellers and placed in many copies of fake "blogs" with about 100 links interspesed in the senteces that lead to gold selling for various games.
They have done this to fool google searches so that they appear topical even thought they are not. This will cause this page to come out about 12th instead of 2nd in a search for "DDO monk finishing moves". This is because these fakes "blogs" have created a self linking structure to each other to fool the link-back algorithm into ranking them higher than they should be.
I suggest that you threaten to sue them for copyright infringement. You should also contact google and have the web server black listed from their search algorithm. The tactic they are using is something that google does not like and will most likely ban. |
