is that a joke, couse its not funny...it cant decide what class to play, but i defently want to go with one of the priests, so i was wandering if any people can tell me which do they think is best. now i read all of the aoc class forums, saw some interesting arguments, but suprisingly i didnt find a single topic for priests, which is strange seeing as they are somewhat overpowerd. so i just wanted to know diferent peoples opinions on diferent tipes of priests, preferibly, in comparison to eachother. now i know the shaman is mele and that the other two are casters. but who can heal better, the group or himself. does the shamans armor make him tougher, or is ToS healing a better way to go for survivability. who has better dps, more crowd control, knocbacks, mana isues...anything you know, please post, would help me alot |

I am playing a ToS now (played PoM in beta), and in my opinion at the current level (35) he is very powerful in PvP. When specced correctly (Lightning) you get some very hardhitting spells, and even some instant nukes. You also get a 0.5 sec cast CC spell that stuns the target, with a cool animation of snakes wrapping around him. I've been jumped by some higher levels and came out as the winner quite often.

Since some will say this game isnt balanced (again)...i call them whiners anyway... I rolled ranger, and i can tell you that its good choice. AOC pvp is a bit different than maybe what ppl are seeing in WoW. Other day some POM asked me to duel him. DUEL ?!? wtf...but ok...i took "chalenge" and guy starting to walk towards me and i hit hide button. Then dude starts flaming me about "what am i doing?" why did i hide etc etc. So i showed up on top of some big rock and killed him. Then i got flamed again about he wasnt ready etc etc...i mean wtf...do i need to stand in one spot and w8 untill he get to melee range and then start duel? Bottom line is that all classes are good, just depend on playstile. For ranger i can say ambush fun that you never saw before. --------------------> |

I am not 100% familiar with how rangers work in AoC. But quite often a ranger cannot use his ranged attack if you are in melee range, so it makes sense to use this to your own advantage...

Currently that is total and utter bollocks. They need to cut the fotm classes down to size and buff the classes that are currently lacking. Until they do so the whole pvp xp thing is better off remaining disabled.

We have a couple of bear shamans in my guild, and they rock... They are melee guys who can heal and dish out some awesome damage, also be immune to magic, and have a lot of CC ability. They used to be tough to play because of Funcom forgetting to put in their improvement spells from 20-50, but they fixed that. Tempest of Set are good in PvP... lots of damage, and can instantly heal themselves and their group. Preist of Mitra is very good in PvE and PvP with their crowd control and damage. If you want differences with the healing classes, think this... they are all the same... each can solo or group fine, kill fine and heal fine. Bear Shaman - Melee Oriented. |

On the official forums, everyone crying for pom nerfs saying the way op. Cant die, and with certain feats can 2- 3 shot most classes. Which btw is complete bull end game. Yea we are powerful in pve but pvp maybe you can get a kill every 3 mins when all your cooldowns are up AND someone is dumb enough to stand to let you repulse them. Repulse is the hardest hitting spell we have, its a 3 second cast and such an obvious animation i dont know how any melee still get hit by it. Outside of that its very hard to kill anyone since our nukes dont hit for diddly. Expect most 1v1 to be either we get 2-3 shot or 5 min battle |

YOU GUYS DONT LISTEN ( OR READ )
HE WANTS TO KNOW WHICH IS THE BEST .
Tempest of Set IS THE BEST at lvl 80 for PvP out of the priests 1v1.

I have to agree with the Tempest comments, Lightning Spikes and the couple of snares work really well.

everyone that plays will tell you that a bear shaman is the best pvp priest. all the priests are good at pvp, but everone is saying they'll be nerfed because they are over powered compared to other classes. they are a mix of nukers and healers, yet they do more damage than a real nuker. so its pretty obvious something will change. and a lot of MMOs go with nerfing instead of making other classes better which end up hurting the PvE and without PvE you cant lvl up to enjoy PvP

PoM is a like a Disciple (WTF am I picking these classes in each game for?) in Vanguard - you outlast almost all PvE but in 1 on 1 PvP you will get your ass handed to you. Tanks will simply kite - recharge and own. Casters silence/cc and range you with their nukes going off faster than yours. I have fought a shammy my lvl and it was a stalemate - we could not cc each other long enough to finish off. FUNCOM - putting the FUN in disFUNctional ! |

Since the op seems to want the best priest class for pvp, I make 2 assumptions, First, as a priest he plans to play with teammates. Second, being pvp, survivability of yourself and your team is your utmost concern. At the end of the day, play whatever you enjoy most, but to this end I have enjoyed the Bear Shaman more than all the other classes, both for pve and pvp. The BS has excellent survivability, aoe healing and other buffs can be triggered by him hitting and taking hits, and he doesn't look like a typical squishy caster - people often overlook the big, fairly well armored barbarian wielding that massive hammer in order to score a quick kill on the glowing guy in the robe. One thing I've noticed too (and maybe I was just with other poor healers) is that while not as adept at healing a single target, the Bear Shaman does well healing the entire group - something that comes in very handy in a mish-mash free-for-all pvp fight. Well that's my 2 cents. |

Solo PVP - hands down TOS. But... since that's the case they are prime targets for a big nerf in the future, so Bear Shamans might be a good 2nd. "What gamers want ... is new game play patterns different from what they've experienced before" - Axehilt |
