Age of Conan

age of conan is a good game, just like lord of the rings online was a good day (for a few weeks)

but age of conan is NO SANDBOX mmo (sandbox means open world, non linear and free to do whatever you want)

I will play it for a few weeks, but its nothing for the long term gameplay...

those who prefer open world and gameplay (like pre-cu star wars galaxies) will have to wait (again)...

just my 2 cents.

The only SandBox game that I know is SWG but its going down th ehill.

The only SandBox game that I know is SWG but its going down th ehill.

unfortuantly, since november 2005...

current sandbox mmo's : EVE but soon with the awesomeness called ambulation

upcoming sandbox mmo's or mmo's that are hybrid( are open ended but also have linaer/themepark features in it, this is called hybrid)

, Earthrise, mortal online,  world of darkness, WELL online ,all point bulletin( makers of GTA and crackdown) are the upcoming sandbox mmorpg's

Guild wars 2,  fallen earth, jumpgate evolution , the chronicles of spellborn ( with shard conquest and some other things , it is a hybrid in my opinion) and maybe some others are upcoming mmorpg's that are hybrid. ( fallen earth and guild wars 2 more on the open ended side while TCOS a bit on the linearity side.

Stargate worlds,  champions online, Warhammer online and some others are upcoming linear mmorpg's.

Current linear mmorpg's: LOTRO,AOC, WOW,EQ2  that are considered alive and healthy at the moment.

I remind you that i only list mmorpg's that have the quality, i will not list sandbox mmorpg's that are cheap like some free to play games or darkfall online. The same counts for the linear mmorpg's. I only count what i would call healthy position mmo's and those that are in development that have a chance on a potential release.
