AoC Barbarians hows the class going? Im thinking of rolling a barbarian tomorrow when i get the game and wanted to know how you guys playing this class are feeling at your current level, and what you think about the class so far. Is it doing good damage? is the HP that low as some ppl are saying? how many mobs can you handle, are the skils and combos cool? etc etc... tell me something to reinforce my love for this class =) |

I have heard that the Barb is SUPPOSSED to weild the most damage for a non-magic class. I have not heard a lot of chatter about the Barbs though. I have not been able to play the game yet, but when i do, I am considering a Barb or a BS. |

I am currently playing a barbarian... honestly these guys are killing machines.... I have no problem going and kiling 2 and 3 people at a time.... though I am only level 13. I am currently trying to compare it to the assassin to see how dps compares and all that jazz |

I'm still slightly amused by the barbarian class of this game for it above all of AoC's unique hybrid or out of the ordinary classes it stands alone as genre defying. I mean a stealth capable barbarian class thats a sub profession of the Rogue archtype who ever heard of such a thing. My question to all though is will the class of the fabled King Conan be the FOTM? Regardless of the server is every 4th person you meet a barbarian?

I haven't seen very many barbarians - Assasins, rangers, Soldiers, and some pet classes seem more popular so far. ~\_/~\_O |

So far i have my Barbarian at lvl 19 and am having a lot of fun playing him. Damage output is great, ive started taking him down the Reaver tree for his feats which means he'll stay with dual weilding. |

I'm surprised that you haven't got a reply yet from someone who has leveled a barb past lvl 20. I have two lvl 80's, a barb and a Hox (can you tell i'm a dps personality?) Barbarian are good dps, but honestly you will want to go down the bezerker feat treat while lvling. Barb's are not as survivable as many classes, so this tree will increase your survivabliltity, and allow you many crowd control abiltiies (increased knockbacks). At 80, then switch to reaver if you are so inclined. I know its a pain especially if you are like me and dreamed of a dual wielding barb. Survivability: Barbs are great dps'ers, and therefore they pay for it by being a tad fragile. Not as fragile as my hox in cloth, but barbs take longer to kill. A hox has great dps, and kills quickly so it makes up for the cloth, where a barb can be bogged down easily and brought down even in heavier armor then the hox. I actually find i have to watch my pulls with a barb since imho barb's are easier to kill then hox. The difference in killing times does not make up for the very very slight increase in armor taht the barb has.
DPS: As i said, imho, barb's are second to hox's in dps for the most part, through 1-70. But post-70 barb's really open up and come into their own. This is going to get even better when the dex modifiers are going to be fixed in the next update (woot!). Barb's are definately the best non magic class dps. Plus you will never find yourself in a blue dress >.<
