I'm not running AoC very well, avargely around 20 fps. And when i go into taverns and stuff it goes down to around 10 even.

It's a brand new laptop, (Well had it for about 3 weeks now) HP Pavilion dv9700.

Here is its specs:

CPU : 2 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz

CPU Speed : 2.39 GHz Performance Rated at 5.93 GHz

System ram: 3gb

Operation system : Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 32-bit (Build Service Pack 16001)

Video card : NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS

Taken from system requirements lab.

So i tested it on system requirements lab, and it can almost hit recommended, very little from it, so high end medium.

I'm playing it on low settings, and it's not performing very well  what's going on?

Help

I can play it, but gosh, i wasn't expecting it to perform that low.

Very few laptops are going to be able to run this high end client well.  Your graphics card is hurting your performance.  They can't put high end graphics cards in a laptop because of the heat produced.  Also laptop hard disks are usually not very fast, they go for small and low energy use rather than speed when they select hard disks for these systems.   Probably you can't change either of them unfortunately.

Either run this client on your desktop or don't bother.

In a word (or three) - shared video memory.  You're losing LOTS of system memory to support the video.

Make sure bloom is off.

Check your view distances.

But 20fps is NOT bad at all!  I know people playing it quite well with 7-10 fps.

Unfortunately your gpu isnt really up to par mate. The GS line for laptops are utter garbage im afraid. My dell xps 1530 with almost identical specs save for the gpu which is a 8600 GT runs the game nicely, i suggest you upgrade to a GT card.
