It all patched ok, but when i click the "play" button the AgeOfConan process shows up in the task manager (not as an application, but as a process) but nothing happens... anyone experiencing this? What should i see once starting the game? PS: I know the game isn't live...just want to be sure that what i am getting now is what we are all getting...to prove the patching worked and i am ready. thx |

Interesting...i disabled full screen, launched it...and it's now downloading 670MB. I guess the patching got messed up. Will keep you posted. |

Finished with the 670MB...i launch it, it goes to 50% CPU and stays there, using 50MB or RAM...not loading beyond that. |

I'm sorry, but it is absolutely beyond ridiculous to try to troubleshoot something that is not supposed to be working yet. Just because it is patched doesn't mean anything. Be patient and if the problem still exists at launch after all the patches are definitely done, then you can start looking for answers. |

Originally posted by fervor It's not ridiculous considering there are now MANY people reporting the issue. While some get to see intro videos and all, others like me get a hanging process... it is a subject of discussion on the official forums. I have found a fix, which is to run the "repair" database tool from the simpleconfig exe, this will update CRC on corrupted files so the official patcher knows to update them... and i am currently downloading 2.5GB of patch to make up for the corrupted files during download. Might be ridiculous to you, might help others... |

Originally posted by fervor Sorry to contradict but you're wrong. The client should still run and after the intros take you to the login screen even though the servers are at the moment unavailable. That said it sounds like the OP has issues that are a little different to most other people.
OP go to the game directory and find the file 'simple config', run it and select DX9, press ok and then try to run the client.

Hmm havent heard this problem yet....but I was having the black out screen problem during the intro, could hear everything, but no picture. Simply went to settings and clicked out of full screen mode, clicked it back into full screen once i entered, seemed to perma fix any problems i was having.... |

I had a similar problem. If you get a black screen after patching when you launch the client in full screen, go to C:/programfiles/funcom/ and open I believe "simpleconfig" to set it into windowed mode. Then when the game opens up in windowed mode you can press I believe left ctrl+right shift+c and it should bring up some options on both sides of the screen. Go to shaders and change it to Shader 2.0. Then it should run in full screen fine. |
