“The change you deserve”

Besides being a little WTF, it turns out this slogan is already used by a drug used to treat depression.  Yup the economy is doing fine, no depression here lol.  It also treats “generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder in adults”

Side effects of the drug (Effexor) include nausea, apathy, constipation, fatigue, vertigo, sexual dysfunction, sweating, memory loss, and "electric shock-like sensations also called 'brain zaps.”

They must be talking directly to the pharmaceutical industry. Either that or the oil companies and defense contractors. I think this has been their policy for the last 8 years. The rich get richer at the cost of the poor getting kicked the fuck out of their homes.

As for their other brilliant slogan "American families agenda" - They should run a TV spot where a father gets his first look at his newborn via vid-phone from a tent in Fellujia. People probably don't want to look into the harsh face of reality though, it's kind of a buzz-kill.

Wow! the GOP is on the ropes after that one!

They shouldn't be talking this change garbage in the first place. Every election has a large portion of people who want change. The problem is, which direction of change, is never asked by the media. I want change too. Cut spending. Control the borders. ETC...

Woo what a one-sided biased article.  I thought they didn't let closed minded individuals like that into the press.

What choice does the GOP have? The republicans have run this country into the ground and pulverized it. They have to try and represent change in some fashion. The problem for them is the people, having listened to their lies for decades, are wise to their bullshit now.

Which direction of change? How about a 180° turn. You do realize that the U.S. spends more on debt INTEREST (not even touching principal) than on national security, education, and health care COMBINED, right? If republicans were serious about lowering taxes, they would lower national debt.

Cut spending? Under a republican president? Yea, search for that and let me know when you find the last republican who cut spending or evened the national debt during their term(s). I'll be waiting . . . .

"I play MMORPGs to feel FREE, yet I am always in chains."

The Republican party has proven they are worse than Democrats when it comes to:

  1. Spending
  2. Corruption
  3. Civil Rights & Liberties
  4. Foreign Policy
  5. Everything

Republicans had their chance and redistributed income UP.  The party completely, and totally, took advantage of 1) their majority and 2) terrorism paranoia to achieve their agenda.  Even more, I think the "evangelical" was taken advantage of; these people literally got nothing.  I am happy they got taken advantage of.

Nevertheless, the Republicans took advantage of us all, now we have

  • Record Debt
  • Record Low Dollar
  • Record Number of War(s) at the Same Time (not including drugs, poverty - name it)
  • Patriot Act (many Democrats support this)
  • Recession Economy
  • More Wealth Disparity In Any Time in History
  • Name it, during the Bush Admin and Republican Congress, I bet it got worse from their policies.

You are just ignoring the facts. April had record tax recipes, breaking last Aprils record. This "run the country into the ground" is a bunch of leftist wishful hogwash. Democrats can not win if there is positive news so they have to keep a negative spin on everything. If the war is going better, then just don't cover it any more. If revenue is high, talk about home mortages or something.

You should be asking under which republican congress spending was cut since congress contols the money. Look at the bloated farm bill congress just passed. The dems are starting early and will probably have enough vote to override a veto. Isn't that special. You haven't began to see how much our government is able to spend.

It's not negative spin, it's a god damned eviction notice.

Uh oh, I hope people don't start eating vegetables and fruits instead of twinkies and moon pies. This would cost the health care industry millions.
