WOW is not cheaper to play than other MMOs and not a single critic says its of any less quality either.  Actually its considered to be of a much higher quality play experience, better reveiwed than other MMOs and more expensive to play.

Put the stupid fast food references to rest.   It only makes you sound ignorant or childlike.  Take your pick.

The numbers are important because of all the nitwits who keep claiming "WOW is going to DIE next week" and "EVERYONE they know stopped playing."

WoW is a great game and better than most which is why it continues to grow over so many other games struggling.  People like change and when a new game comes out it will grab a nice chunk of players and be another MMO success if it takes the time to do things right like Blizzard did.  No I don't mean another clone of WoW either, just their business practice of making a game and not a product.

WoW numbers are important for a few reasons.  On the bad side some companies *cough* MS *cough* set their standards to high and put themselves out of the market with unrealistic expectations.  However, when someone (Conan?  Warhammer? some other sleeper title) finally takes the time to put out another complete well thought out fun polished game like WoW then it will show other devs you can get a very profitable share of the market if you put in the effort.  People will leave WoW, but there just isn't much reason to do so right now considering most of the other games on the market.

Trust me I would rather that there are 10 games with 1 million subscribers than 1 game with 10 million subs.  However the reality is that there aren't many games with enough entertainment power to draw in a million subs and keep them.

hmmm 700k more people, i believe any other mmorpg company would kill for just getting their hands on that amount of people.

Anyway, WoW is just that good well rounded that aces the most important things, so really no need to hate or anything.

Not paying for WoW anymore but that game still is one hell of a well made mmorpg.

Thats wrong. Stuff like fast food, is popular, but is bad.   I know most of these 10 m people will have more fun on a different game, but are stuck on that one, because don't know better, and theres where are his friends.

While I somewhat agree with your other points, the above is wrong. Fast food is popular because it tastes good. Whether it's good or bad for you is irrelevant, it's delicious and a lot of people eat it. It would not be as popular if it didn't taste good.

Same with WoW. WoW is popular because it plays good. It's a fun game with a very nice looking world, fleshed out storyline and fun, accessible combat. The game cannot be bad and have this many subscribers and addicts. Just like McDonald's, for all it's faults, cannot not taste bad and have so many patrons.

Ok, forget WoW. Lets talk about food. You think fast food is good, delicious.

Ok, thats my point. You think fast food is delicious, but you sould taste what Chuletas de Ternera del Pais Vasco, and maybe una Racion de Calamares Gallegos con Sidra bien Escanciada; then you will update your opinion: yea, fast food may be suicy, but is substandard, there are much better food out here.

Again in WoW, theres lots of people that think everything taste like chicken, because all know is chicken.

Tastes vary from person to person. I may like chicken McNuggets better than "Chuletas de Ternera del Pais Vasco, and maybe una Racion de Calamares Gallegos con Sidra bien Escanciada". Does that mean that it's not good food? Probably not, though, from my personal experience, anything with such long names in languages I don't understand is overpriced "chicken" special. But I digress.

The point that I'm trying to make is that comparing WoW to fast food and claiming that it's substandard is not a good argument as there are millions of people who love fast food just like there are millions of people who love WoW. A better argument would be that you do not enjoy fast food and prefer "Chuletas de Ternera del Pais Vasco, and maybe una Racion de Calamares Gallegos con Sidra bien Escanciada". That is your personal preference and no one elses.

WoW is a good MMO, and as someone else has said before it just wasn't the game I wanted to continue to invest in at the time.  10 Million subscribers worldwide isn't enough for me to just pick up and play the game, and although I liked it when I did the beta and even tried it later on a 14 day trial, I still couldn't find enough reasons to stop paying for my City of Heroes/Villains account and switch to WoW.  I did enjoy playing the single player Warcraft games and would buy the next one to come out if one ever does, I just don't feel for me personally that WoW is really all that much different and I'm just paying a $15 monthly fee to continuously play in that world, and that is just simply not logical to me ATM.

Maybe I will let my inner Night Elf out and pick up WoW again, and join the millions who are kicking lich backsides and taking names.  But I will say congratulations to the Blizzard crowd and plead with them to bring Starcraft to the MMO realm as soon as they can.  That's one SF MMO I would love to see made someday.

Again, congrats to Blizzard/WoW and continued success to them in the future.
