The waves are getting rather high on this subject and I understand completely that many players are not happy about the fact that Early Access is sold out as of today and I'm sorry about the misunderstanding and the confusion this has caused.

We did limit the maximum number of possible registrations for Early Access from the beginning so it wasn't a decision we took later. We knew that a specific number of players would be willing to take the offer and get 3 days earlier access to the game. That the registrations would reach that set limit as fast as they did we didn't quite expect but that doesn't change the fact that the number was limited.

The limit was set to make sure that registered players would have the chance to download the client and access the game servers 3 days prior to launch. With an unlimited amount of players, that would not be possible.

We do take your feedback on this issue very seriously and will be back with more information about this as soon as new facts are available.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

You represented it as a "summation of today's threads", then left out half the story. Also, it's great you are in, I've been in for days. Too bad your perspective only considers your situation as valid  and to hell with everyone else.

I tried to include some of the main points you left out and even then it's not the complete counter-perspective.

Bottom line is this. It does not matter who is to blame or who is in the right. They have angered a lot of customers and the customer has the money and the option to tell Funcom to go stuff their game. This may be the straw that breaks the camels back for some, others it may just be one more straw on the load and the next problem will be cause the break. Hard to twll , but it if I were the CEO this is not how I would want my launch th begin. Bad business practices there Funcom.

I disagree, the bottom line is it does matter who's to blame. For the most part it is the sloppy attitude of customers who had certain expectations without looking into what they were paying money for. Those customers are angry and to embaressed to admit they were at fault for making a purchase without enquiring as to what it was they were buying. So they blame Funcom.

You seem set on the idea that Funcom screwed up and mislead these people, I agree it's bad press until you actually read up on it and discover the cause of these peoples ire. If you don't read up on it then you probably couldn't care less.

If I were the CEO I'd be unhappy that so many customers are angry, despite it being due to their own lack of competence. However, bad business practices? Besides Funcom has released more early access places than they intended to, due to this adolescent whining. Personally I'd feel better if they all just quit now and put the rest of us out of our misery!

The Early Access Program was always going to be limited. I pre ordered about 2 weeks ago, so not long, just because I wanted the collectors edition. I just feel bad for those that pre ordered months ago and miss out on early access due to late retail distibution.

I agree with this totaly, but that's the retailer who is to blame not Funcom. I bought mine through Amazon and am downloading early access as I type this. It seems some retailers dropped the ball and may have sold the pre order keys under false pretences. I say may as people do tend to embelish their stories to back up their point of view. Nevertheless those retailers have dropped the ball, they are responsible for not emailing the code on time, not Funcom.
