"Life is not judged by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. |
Am I the only 1 who hates all of the copy and paste "Free Forever" MMOs that all for some reason stay around and all have the same stupid item shops the same stupid pick 1 of these 3 classes only and you can only change to be male or female character creation sequences, and also the same type of "We're from china and use translator programs to answer your question" tech supports? I mean, very few of them are fun for the first like, week, then you get to watch the gold sellers trickle in, then the credit card scammers trickle in, and they all end up the same, mass spammers for gold selling websites and crappy communities.
I'm sure right about now if you're actually reading this then you go, "Hey, that crap happens in games like SWG or EQ in the past" and yes, I know (I didn't list WoW because WoW is not a game, its a crappy piece of work that needs to be burned just like SoE) they all had that too, but SWG has an excuse, like going uber downhill and crashing into a guardrail at 200 mph, as for EQ...well...SOE...thats enough of an excuse right?
Another thing I hate, is WoW, it's an overanimated, overrated, piece of expletive deleted :p. It's not even a real RPG, I can get the same amount of fun out of that as I can 1 of the FREE copy and paste MMO's. Somewhere below my post, was 1 titled, "Seriously, what was the last successful MMO launch?" and the only 1 I can think of was FF Online...that was quite successful wasn't it? Or, if you even just want MMO category, go look up "Battleground Europe" it's an online WW2 simulator ($14.99 a month, current 2 week trial or summat like that) that's been around for years (although it lacks a lot and it's only the beginning of the war) and is still fun with a strong player base that requires teamwork and tactics (and a lot of patience).
And, to apologize at the end, I'm sorry for the garbledness of all this, I'm just bored and wanted to finally rant about all this crap :p. |

You're just a troll. WoW is a good game and it did a lot of things better than the MMOs it copied from. It may not be my cup of tea or yours, but it's hard to deny that it's a good game, especially with as many subscribers as it has. |

I''m not gonna do your stupid poll. |
My favorite thing about the free crap-fests is the LF game posts. Thank god a new section was created for those annoying requests so they don't clutter the Pub. They are all so very similar and really, is it so hard to download and try them?? They are after all... FREE.
On the last point... one shouldn't mention WoW and SOE in the same sentance... |

Originally posted by Mylon You DO realize that WoW can't hold claim to the amount of players it has anymore right? Seeing as there's only like, 2 million REAL accouns..and the rest are bots...or trials or fakes. |

Originally posted by Teran1987 If it wasnt for your comments on WoW, I'd say that you had almost a perfect score regarding the Asian F2P mmo's. I do not play WoW anymore, but give it some credit. They do a lot of things right, and I had a ton of fun when I played. I have a slight feeling that you are downing the game because of its popularity. The more people claim its the best MMO on the market, the more people are going to start hating it as well because of this. This is a guess of course, as you may have other reasons to dislike the game. |

Im sure you will agree with me that this way of posting wouldnt make 'discussion' possible on a 'discussion-forum'. Disclaimer: I dont play WoW, but i love to read about other peoples opinions regarding different MMO's...as long as these oppinions arent simple regurgitations based on absolutely nothing but pre-puberty crybaby-mentality. |

Actually, EQ never went downhill ? SWG did, but not EQ.
Originally posted by Teran1987 Even if it had "only" 2 mio accounts, it would still be a huge success. Besides, it has 2 Mio accounts in Europe and 2.5 Mio in the US and Canada, according to mmochart.com. I doubt there are a lot of "trials" in between. And what are "fakes", anyway ? |

Teran - evidence please (fact) otherwise your comment is opinion based and therefore invalid.
I think the thing to remember with Korean games is that they are designed for that market, that audience and what that culture likes. The success of WOW (undeniable) and the subsequent higher profile of the MMO industry, its revenue potential and its global roll out potential have attracted the Korean MMO creators to take existing products and throw them around the world to pick up a seond level of income. (Its good business for companies who are not large enough to be concerned abour reputation damage to their brand). They will not be anywhere near as successful as mainstream Western designed games or as their home player base is because their roots are not designed for overseas cultures. I cant blame them for trying the business model - its my choice whether to play or not so I can only blame myself. Pretty sure some of them will have cool features that will be ported into "home grown" titles and therefore the industry as a whole will grow. |
