Lies, all lies!

I just get hyped on WAR sometimes (thanks to Paul enthusiasm mostly), but then I think about it and see what seems to be the new WOW, and that gets me worried.

Also not being able to dive, and no underwater content. And no official forums. And no fishing. (I'm serious).

I could understand a few of these, mythic is probably just learning from it's mistakes.

In DAoC Diving and being able to go underwater had a negative impact on RvR at times. Groups of enemies could drink water speed potions, pot out of the water, kill a bunch of people, then jump back in the water, dive where they couldnt be seen and move twice as fast underwater as the people chasing them due to potions.

I would think tho, mythic will try to find a better solution for this and add underwater section later as they did with DAoC, under water content wasn't added into DAoC until later in the game's life, few expansions later.

Fishing is generally a waste of time unless it has a practical application. Even in WoW very few people take the time to fish. I have only played one game that fishing was enjoyable and had a practical application and that was Final Fantasy 11. They made fishing interactive for once, and the fish you caught had a purpose. You could even fish out rare items from certain spots.

Tho I like fishing, and would like to see it in WAR, if they do not give it a proper function it would just serve as a time waster.

About the official forums, They really aren't needed. They give you enough info on the offical site so that you are aware of it's progress regularly. The only thing an official forum would server, is to open a floodgate for retards to run rampant, and try to tear the game down before it is even finished. Much like people are doing now with AOC.

Business smarts on Mythic's part. They don't need the general publics input. They know what direction they wish to take WAR, nothing anyone in an official forum is going to do or say that is going to change that.

That is what Closed beta testers are for.

It would would be better for these boards here if those people who are really scared of AoC being popular just stopped posting for a while.

Who knows, but its for certain that warhammer fans should thank Funcom.

Mythic was not even going to have sieging like it is now until everyone saw how awesome they look in Conan.

Then Mythic borrowed AoC's innovative SpellWeaving concept and added that into their game.

Then Mythic lifted the skin for crafting from AoC and then made it warhammerish, (but its essentially the same)

Then Mythic saw how cool Stealthing looked in AoC and went back on their word and but it into Warhammer Beta. People were in both beta's and it was really easy to see which game was stale. Good for Mythic for adding a little spice to the war.

Then Mythic saw that AoC has sieges with set spots for siege weapons (cough AoC)

Plenty more...

Mate, you are full of shit.

Mythic added keep sieging because the beta testers wanted more open PvP, sieging was always there in the form of city siege. Also Mythic had keep sieges in DAoC before the imitators (Funcom) decided to have it in AoC.

Just because Mythic announce a class with abilities similar to spellweaving after Funcom announce their mechanic does not mean Mythic copied. Mythic could have had those mechincs planned for that class before Funcom announced anything. And anyway haven't Funcome dropped spellweaving??

LOL, theft of a crafting ui skin, what a heap of shite. It does not look like AoC's crafting skin, anyway WAR's crafting atleast has alot of promise and sounds like it could be mould breaker for crafting in todays MMO's. AoC's crafting is not much different than WoW's other than you no longer need workbenches.

The way stealth works in Warhammer is nothing like it is AoC so you fucking fail again.

Your entire post = fail upon fail upon fail...

LOL AT U  , but i promise in a good way.

In one post you are worried WAR will be too WoW-like, and in the same breath you are bummed there is no fishing....  CUZ it is WAR!!!! That is why they are trying to cut down on hobbyist crafts and pointless emotes.. to make the game more WAR immersive...  remember all those lame blokes farming rep in AV while fishing?? bah.. they can stay in their game please.

The official forums point is interesting, I rather liked M. Jacob's reasoning on not having it. (I'LL LINK POST HERE IN A SEC) Especially if you read WoW's official forums... they are SO BAD, I always feel dirty on the inside after I get sucked into them.

I agree with you on underwater content... I hope at some point it is added... that would be a nice addition in their 5-year plan. WoW has pretty good water mechanics... too bad they haven't expanded on this more... one of my favorite all time zones is blackfathom deeps.  Heh maybe they will recycle it and make it a 10-man instance...
