There were 2 whole shelves of AoC pre-order boxes sitting out, i asked the kid working there about how they have been selling and he said not very well, they had to send some back. It's either most people are using internet sales or this isn't gonna be as big as people think.

This is also probably a lie. When you walk in to the BB software dept, everything has its own section based on what type of game it is. Like Action, Roleplay, etc etc.

Now with that said in every section everything is in alphabetical order. Aoc was in the "strategic" section of the software which isnt a very big section. Next to where AoC was (sold out at the BB near me) is "age of Empire III" and some other age of empire games and that section was full of other games. The whole stategic section itself was only 4ft long with 4 shelves. Its hard for me to believe that BB would put every copy they had on the 2 top shelves with nothing else especially if it isnt selling.

I have no reason to lie, i said nothing negative about AoC, just stating what i saw. There were 2 shelves full of pre-order boxes.

Here in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway and Sweden), Age of Conan are not selling so good and that is very strange because this is kinda like it home market. I dont know with USA or Asia. I talk with a EB Gamestore employer and he said they most ppl are waiting for the next WoW expand. You can also see CE boxes on the shelves.

Wow.......The store near you had them in stock but if you goto bb online the preorder is sold out. What town and state do you live in and I will have my friend check stock in that district. Maybe we can help some folks out and tell them who to call to get it.

Totally missed that :)  Just goes to show how we as a country (USA)  are spoiled and are lazy as hell from the internet. Get up off your bottom if you still need the pre-otder people, seems there are many in the stores.

thats for the special cd that comes with it. If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happened with POTBS. Not to say it means anything. I asked the BB by me what it meant when POTBS came out (which i finally got my music cd a week after launch....that alone was awesome for a preorder..love piratey music!) and it was due to distrubution by the publisher, not due to sales.

And just an FYI....i am a totally neutral aoc/war person...i will prolly pick up each a month after launch. I live in NYC area, Long Island to be exact, and i was in to pick up a new vcr/dvd player (my son stuck a sandwhich in the vcr...ironic isn't it) and i went to the game section. I picked up Warhammer 40k (love rts' and i heard good things about it so i decided to pick it up) and i saw 2 full shelves of the AoC beta preorder. I didn't inquire about it, since I didn't really care (not preordering). Just struck my eye is all.

And again, backordered does NOT mean sold out, it just means it's not in store/inventory due to distribution of the product not due to sales. Again, see my POTBS reference above. If it was sold out....i would say in big bright red letters SOLD OUT. I have ordered alot of stuff via Best Buy online.

Yep they are all over the place, dantep you are pretty close to my region, NJ is only about 3 hours from me and as I stated, AoC is EVERYWHERE in EVERY store. They can't give the shit away.

So anyone who needs to pre-order still or wants to play just drive on over to NJ or DC area we got you covered.

Also for Hamnjshdu or whatever his name is, don't bash the EU guy for saying the shit isn't selling in denmark or where-ever.

AoC fans just have to understand, Not everyone is an AoC fan, I am sure there are plenty of regions in the US who could give a crap less about AoC.

Just because So-CAL is selling out doesn't mean people in NJ are digging it.

Anyway, all this is mute anyway. Everyone will know like I said in a few short weeks wether AoC lives or fades away like that Kansas song.... dust in the wind.

NYC area still has them on the shelves as well. So if your looking to preorder, don't look online, and go into the local stores.
