Thank you for the humor in a much too serious thread.

Most of this is a result of skinny and or fat losers who sit behind a keyboard and think they are Gods.  The honest truth is that, put this chick in a real world scenario asking the same question and not a single one of these idiots would spout a word or they'd pretend to be normal human beings. 

This could only be fixed if they planted guns in every computer monitor that would shoot you if you acted like a freaking animal on the internet.  You should be shot like an animal.

Down to earth people dont really make it very far on the internet - It's full of idiots and weaklings who hide behind their keyboards because they have no balls in the real world.

In reply to the OP this really isn't new, it wasn't new in WoW and it isn't new in AoC. I try to steer away from generalisations if I can but there has always been and always will be immature people in any MMO. I've played quite a few MMO's from EQ1 to SWG to WoW and always, without exception there have been people like this.

What I do in a new MMO is make friends in game and join a Guild turn off open chat and talk to the people I like and who's opinions I respect. You will never get rid of these guys, they have always been here and they  always will be. I thought the OP on that particular thread made a point worth discussing but there was only one way it was going to end and that's badly. I did feel a little sorry for him but in an open forum a topic like that is always going to get buried under an avalanche of childishness and innuendo. I doubt he/she will make the same mistake again.

Shame really because I thought it was something worth discussing.

And people in WoW want to imagine they are elves (and also PVP all day long), and people watching The Matrix imagine they are Neo as well as Agent Smith, kids imagine they are Godzilla stomping on cities, or they pick up broom handles and pretend to shoot each other, or they play monsters in LOTRO and must wish they really are spiders or undead, ad nauseum.

It's a game. People can get overly excited about a football game or wrestling event or whatever else too, but for the majority that kind of thing is just some temporary over-the-top fun.

Ngeldu5t, Miller's Batman is popular because it's more serious than Bob Kane's Batman. The Iron Man movie is so good partially because it does a good job of making you believe such a suit could really exist. Comic books have evolved from their corny beginnings.

Elikal, I have read several of your posts. While they are interesting I think you are really going over the top with all of this AoC thing. You are always coming back with some more negativity, and now you are making yourself some social drama; I fail to see it.

For once we finally have something different from the WoW's, EQ's and Lotro's, a "new" world with some awesome lore and a "fresh" social environment. I welcome the change.

People are what they are, the world is how it is. Hiding from it won't change it. And don't forget that it's a fantasy setting.

As a female gamer I found absolutely nothing wrong with the NPC's. As a female gamer I expect a certain number of innocent flirtations/come-ons when in-game, especially before people realize that my husband is never far from my side. As an intelligent individual I realize that this is a game, period.

Men like women. It's a fact of life, a fact that the Conan creator obviously enjoyed enough to write about . So what? If men like men or women like women, well that works well for me too. It's ALL good.

The game was meant for adults who know how to be adults who understand that it's a game. *shrug* Some will meet the standard others...not so much.

As an afterthought...

I'm a woman and I like being a woman. As luck would have it, I just happen to be well-spoken, intelligent and divinely sexy. I can see how men and women alike would be into me. *wink*

Funcom asked for it. It was not necessary, but all the design choices CALLED for such human trash, and there it is, calling its own stupidity out aloud. It seems to me straight men are as dumb as I thought after all. Bah... ><
