hey all. just snooping around.

Haven't played WoW in a while, if I remember correctly I've got a Hunter at 55, and a Paladin somewhere near 30, but that's it.  never did make it to the Raid Game(nor was I really ever interested in it).

How is WoW these days for a non-raider type, like myself?

I'm quite "casual", I guess....if that is what not being interested in high-level raiding and/or "Elite" PvP means.  I just wanna play and have fun really.

i imagine a good portion of the kiddies will be moving to AoC, yes?

so whaddya think, is it a good time to get back into WoW, or what? (right now I am playing Guild Wars, and I'd probably split time between the two)

WOW is Raiding and pvp. There is nothing really else until LK comes out. If you don't want to raid....then I wouldn't waist your money

AoC has high system spec and a Mature rating.  For the most part the kiddies are sticking with wow.  Probably getting a decent amount of adults to switch though.

If you don't raid, be prepared to group with idiots who are too dumb to figure out how to click 3 buttons.

Yes JMadison, this is most likely the right fit for you as a casual gamer.  WoW has built it's success on the business model of catering to the casual gamer like yourself. As a Hunter you will be able to fully partake in both the casual PVE and PVP battleground aspect of the game and excel at both.

As far as the "kiddies", no need to worry about that, the average age in WoW is 28 yrs. old.  Actually, my biggest problem in pick-up-groups has been taking breaks between pulls so that an ADULT can tend to their "kiddies".

Pay no attention to the bitter people that troll these and other forums to keep others from playing games that they do not approve of.  You can still have alot of fun in WoW, the quests and zones will keep you plenty entertained in TBC, Battlegrounds are fun if you just jump in when you want a quick PvP fix and raiding isn't what it used to be.  Raiding has been watered down (no attunements, easier boss fights) so that you can pug the entry TBC raid (Kara in 3.5-4 hours, which is a very entertaining instance if you haven't done it 50 times).

In the end it's all about you and how you enjoy your gaming, just don't put much weight into what you read on forums.  You get what you put into these games and for the most part the vast majority of mmo's can be fun if you have the right attitude and it fits your taste.
