If this is a problem for many people i would think that Funcom will offer a torrent download too. But it's still 5 days left. I downloaded mine yesterday in 5-600 Kb/s, so your speed should get better when less people is downloading. |

Several things you could try: 1. Disable any firewalls just for the download. 2. Open up the ports as instructed here. 3. Close and restart the downloader, this has worked for some people. 4. Make sure your ISP isn't one like mine that limits p2p traffic during peek times, in which case, you can't really do anything about. Cheerio |

if you are using the age of conan downloader it is bit torrent technology so more people using it effectively increases it's speed. However you can only be connected to 50 people at once which kind of nerfs the download speed, especially if the peers you are connected to aren't relatively local. |

Ok, my fault, it is already a torrent=)
And I also tested the US downloader now, and I downloaded in 150-200 KB/s, and i live in EU, so try restarting it. |

Originally posted by Auzy 1. Minimize the downloader so it goes into your system tray. 2. Right click the icon to access the options. 3. Make sure download is set to unlimited and set upload to 25k. 4. Leave peers number alone. 5. Pause the downloader and simply restart it again.
These steps make your DL speed go from about 100-200k to 900-1200k in a matter of seconds. If this does not help you are most likely the victim of a $hitty ISP.

I've tried everything I can and I still can't get over 40 kb/se. It starts off high then free falls to around 20-30.
When I am downloading, even at the lowest upload setting, my internet browsing goes to a crawl. I'm not on dialup, and I think the max dl with my provider is 175 kb/sec, which is what i was getting with the open beta download. |

minimize Downloader right click on image in taskbar reduce UL speed so it's a bit under your UL speed maximum reduce # of peers maximize Downloader click PAUSE click PLAY ..... wait 15 mins ... if speed isn't about 100 KB/sec, repeat the PAUSE PLAY part till you get some peers with decent UL speed. |
