Is yoru 1.79ghz process single core or dual core? I would be dual core as a 1.79Ghz single core wouldn't even start up the game.. well it might but you wouldn't be playing.

He only has a 2.66Ghz single core processor, if his motherboard supports it I would upgrade to at least a 3.0 single core or a 2.6 dual core at the minimum. Definately needs a video upgrade and for that the 8800gt 512 is his best bet (granted that his motherboard will support that card).

Its a single core , and yes it does run the game. Your RAM and your videocard are much more important than processor speed.

Yes I am aware of the ram and vid card requirements but with a single core 1.79Ghz processor you can't be getting good FPS. I would still recommend upgrading the cpu.
