Is it true that Age of Conan has alot of invisible walls restraining your explorations? Like instead of seeing a mountain or something, they just put an invisible wall, so you end up hitting invisible walls all over the place and give you a feeling of a small world?

And IS IT true that when you travel around the world, you get to travel through doors? Like instead of zoning through a road from zone to zone, you see a door in the middle of nowhere, and that door or npc teleport you to the zone of your choice?

I really hope that these aren't true. I don't mind instanced zones, to reduce lags and give us more chances to complete quests or kill some named etc, but the rumors about the invisible walls and the doors/npc teleports between zones isn't too appealing to me. To me, the game would feel alot less big and fun to explore.

Yes that is correct. There are invisible walls to areas that will be opened later on. But the detailed
buildings are there.

Instead of using fake background graphics, AOC actually use detailed buildings, mountains etc in the background that looks awesome. I'm sure that
they will eventually open more and more of these
places.

I had a chance of running around in AOCs final
FFA PvP event and can confirm that the surroundings are huge. It was like running around
in oblivion. Very impressive. So a few "invisible
walls" that you normally wouldnt go ro anyway
doesnt bother me.

The only invisible wall I encountered was when I jumped into the ocean and tried to see how far I could swim.

Then that's perfectly normal... sweet thanks.

Do you know something about the doors?

I never saw any doors out in the wilderness.  To leave certain port towns you'd take a boat to the  not city zone, or go through a gate in a pallasades.   Reasonable things.   I imagine it is possible there are some zones you enter through mystery doors, but from what I've seen so far - I doubt it.

Yup, to go through a door that is magic it would be alright, I read somewhere someone saying that he saw doors all over to go to other zones. I guess he was on drugs lol...

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

I started getting damage when I swam too far cuz of the current.

Yeah.. on the starter Island in Tortage I took damage too (see screen)  I tried in again on PVP day in a different area and just hit a wall.

$hit Happens.

well say you're out in the wilderness and you come across a very thick shrub/tree or whatever...I have noticed many times there is an invisible wall around such items and that you must walk around rather than through..

BUT - it seams to me more realistic in the sense that these objects would not be likely walked through anyway...unless of course you have a hatchet and like hours of time to clear a path

Summary - there are invis walls but they seam logical in almost every case i have seen them..
