Log on the open beta, test the patch with different setting. Simple. Look at the fog, look at the graphic settings. OMG they are not the sames ! Miracle !

Of course your framerate has increase, rendering is NOT THE SAME whatever options you choose. Now with my config I have a normal framerate for the quality, rejoice lol.

I was one with problems before patch, after patch i have different problems and crash, but client is now playable ( whaow ! wonderfull ! )

I got faster loading screens, and performance is better but shaders dont work at all. Shaders in the game make your character to have scars, tatoos, detail in general and make stuff look bumped and armors look shinny like metallic stuff sooo a weird pacht for me. I hoped to have a nice pacht and finally make my preorder but no preorder for me in this states of things.

What a pity, such a great game.

The last patch didn't change the newbie content, only the tech part.

My FPS went up n down alot after the patch but finally settled at around 68fps, slightly better than the 65fps I had been gettin since I started the beta. I did notice the game was a bit darker. But simple fix was just to go into settings n change a bit. N the crashes to desktop...well that was stated it would happen right on the patch notes...so not like funcom wasn't aware of the problem.

If you look at other posts about new patch it states that 80% (or at least a lot as % can and is usualy pulled out of peoples backsides.) are having great improvement, this is what open beta is about for a large part. testing and fixing.

you have created a new acount and posted only in AoC threads..and all your posts todate about how you dont like the game in general it and how the performance is bad...why...why do you come here and talk to us about how you dont like any aspect of the game?? do you think thats what this forum is for....i am only saying this in response to your naive post post that does not realise there are profesional people out there whoe are pretty much paid to go out of there way to unsettle a comunity for there own benefit....when you see your post count and what you post about...i have no time to listen to your trolling...go away...maybe we can meet on another forum about another game and talk about how great it is and br freinds...but really..i dont want to see your posts here.

So they made the game a bit easier on the graphics so ppl could use the client a bit easier...n you bitch about that. If they left it like it was you bitch about that. If you hate the game so much find something else to do. Funcom is trying to make the game more playable...n all you gotta do is bitch about it.

is the game playable and fun?  if it's full of bugs, like i dunno, falling thru buildings?, crashing to the desktop? and that's a week before retail?  that doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

this game isn't anyone's baby, especially not a player's baby.  it's a g a m e.  it's supposed to be fun, playable, fun.

if it's buggy, it's buggy.  buggy is not fun.  crashing to desktop is not fun. 

players can not ever be on the side of the game company in these situations. 

you do not collect a paycheck in order to make the game better. 

a player telling a company, "hi, i see that i'm crashing to desktop and falling thru buildings into the water, but i love your game" does NOT help the player side.  what it does, is to tell the gaming company, "hey, there's some people out there that they will pay us real money to play a game that's half-finished and they'll THANK us for it~!!"

wanting a game to be wonderful, that is fine.  if that game is NOT wonderful, then don't pretend it is.  if a game has problems, it has problems.  wishing/hoping they'll be fixed does not take away that the game has problems.

MMOs are always being updated, MMOs are not always in an incomplete/buggy state.  that is a fallacy.  MMOs should be playable to where they are fairly bug free and you can just log in and play the game and have FUN.

there is NO 'us versus them' in the player world.  all players SHOULD want the best game possible for them TO play.  if it's buggy, fine, it's buggy.  some people believe that you SHOULD get your money's worth and that millions of dollars and years of creation should render a playable and FUN game.  we call those people intelligent.  apologists and fanbois are not quite to that level.  why not?  i do not know.  unless, perhaps, all of them are secretly on some gaming company's payroll?

otherwise, help the players of games and be honest with gaming companies.  if the game is craptastic, tell them that.  don't go, "hey, this game is wonderful, but maybe, one day, you could fix these 500 bugs".

you get nothing extra for being a fanboi and all you do is hurt the other players by making gaming companies believe they're doing a great job, when they aren't.

if it's buggy, it's buggy.  if it's buggy, crazily enough, a lot of people DON'T find that to be fun.  ESPECIALLY if it's something they'll have to pay $50+ for AND a monthly fee on top of that. 

think of it as cablevision or telephone service.  do you like your cell phone calls being full of static, but only when you make or receive phone calls?  (yeah, i said it like that on purpose)  do you like sitting down to watch your favorite TV show, and every time for half the show they're scrolling local election results across the screen on every channel, while muting all the channels?

playing a game with bugs and saying that it's alright, is you agreeing that the above things are also great and wonderful and that we consumers should rejoice in them!

again, i'd like to ask how many games have had bug-filled open betas and smooth, wonderful retail releases?  does anyone have a list?  if you do, please refer to that when supporting a buggy open beta; if you don't; we DO have a list of buggy open betas that turned into buggy-several months of retail.

pay for QUALITY.  don't pay because you have no patience to wait because you're addicted (read - weak willed/minded) to games.
