Did anyone else experience a *huge* performance improvement after the last patch ?  Not only the game never froze or crashed since but I constantly stay at 60+ FPS running Age of Conan on high settings.

I seen an amazing improvement from just a week ago to after this patch.  If Funcom continues to improve it at this pace AoC release will be a very positive experience - not to mention after.

Just FYI my machine stats are :

RAM : 4 Gb RAM ( 4 x 1 Gb )

CPU : Intel Quad Core Q6600

OS : Vista Ultimate 64bit

Graphics Card : Geforce 8800 GTS 512

We are now recruiting players for our Warhammer Online Guild ( Order side, Casual, Mature, Democratic ).

Definately. All of the issues I had before are now gone. Some of us are even getting upwards of 120 FPS in instances. I can play all night without freezing / crashing and its starting to seem like less of a beta test and more like a retail version, so I have high hopes for the real thing.

This should have been expected, Funcom realized they were taking some bad publicity from the OB.  But this is not unusual for new games, expecially MMO.  There usually are quite a few patches and hardware adjustments.  Patients is the key when it come to the beta, you shouldn't overly analyze an OB, it for testing purposes and stress testing.   Also, it is for the issues you just mentioned, to see what the issues the players are going to face.  I hope they continue to improve the beta issues, and show that it can launch a game worth buying and playing.  I would say I saw little issue with game play, but technical issues were the main cause of unrest.   If they can pull this together in the next couple weeks there should be a big influx of people at or near launch.

I prefer a open market to a Monopoly MMO.

Very encouraging for most of us PC users then.

I see you have a very modest machine...

Especially the 64 bit OS and Quad processors are used by everyone these days.

You forgot the HD speed though (most important part in MMO's because IT transmit the data to the CPU. I reckon it's 10.000 RPM :))

I have an AMD64x2 6400+ 3.2ghz, Radeon HD 3870  512 MB Sapphire, 4 gigs of ram, and a 7200 RPM HDD and I run on High settings perfectly. My machine cost me about $650.

yes everyone use 64bit now.. or they should.. . most of 500-1tb hdd outperforms raptors.. , and cost even less .. as velocity isnt out yet..
