Lifes A B*tch, Then You Die, Then The Worms Eat Ya.

Sooo looks like a normal talent tree...... What did ya expect? Please make us a telent tree that people understand that looks different then any other and post a screen shot please! Maybe they look similar (not even close to identical) but it fullfills its role, its easy to read, understand, and gives alot of info. Please think before you post.

Three trees. Which you start getting at level 10.

I bet it looks like i'm trolling, but I'm not. Are they even trying?

But.... it's got weird looking Greek letter counters at the bottom instead of numbers though...

In LOTR, you unlock your "talents" by different in game actions. Improved Ability? Use it X amount of times. Resistance to poison? Kill 1000 poison ridden spiders. Then you equip those, once unlocked, into a similar tree.

It wasnt the best, but it was fresh. They tryed.

The same trees you get at the same level isn't trying.

Sadly, I don't think anyone is trying these days. Seems like "second best" is the common goal now.

Actually, that's 2 trees for the class and 1 tree general to each "categories" I beleive.

And like someone said. I doubt you could do better at finding a better idea than that.

I could probably name off about 10 good ideals that suit the lore more, but I doubt you actually want to hear them.  While I personally have no issue with people using things that worked well in past games, and this isn't exactly a deal breaker for me regardless, I have to admit...its just one more example of how much AoC is geared to be like WoW when all of my hopes rode on the differences it was supposed to have.  Ahhh...PvP mini-games, Raiding geared for top-tier loot, original PvP gear designed on a tier system for earnings, talent trees....hell, why not just go full force and make the game run on 10 year old PC's kicking with nothing but DOS lol.

I exaggerated, I digress, but I do enjoy doing so.  Naturally the two games do have differences...and for the sake of decency I'm not going to use the "Guild Wars" examples here.  I will say that my expectations have been soundly dashed about the matter though...and that I fully expect the game to draw no more players than LoTR did.  Which, by all standards, would make it a success...except that I'm talking about top end figures and not absolute potential.  So, it'll be niche...and not even niche in the good way.  Niche in the "God I wish I had a game just like WoW, but pretty" way and that makes me sad.

Realizing this makes me wonder what LoTR even is then.  I guess it was a touch prettier than WoW.  Perhaps AoC will be the death of THAT game...wouldn't that be interesting?  It would serve them right for even including such horrid PvP in the game.  I'm sure that AoC will at least get THAT part remotely right...even if it IS a touch bland from normalcy.
