God Bless...
"We live and we die. What happens in the middle doesnt matter." - Taurehy

Hello,

Basically I’m just curious if I’m a bad guy here...

I have done something bad and please forgive me...

I Unheardninja am currently playing both WoW AND EVE Online!

Sue me ok! Yes I like both games and if that means Living in this no mans land in between the two great Empires then maybe I don’t belong in this world!...

Ok really though. Why do people act like just because one plays WoW that there unable to play anything else and that we are all simple minded creatures?

Thank you,

Matt

Nothing wrong with that in my book, far from it.

They are games that are very far from each other in many respects.

Sometimes we want to watch weekend at Bernies and sometimes we want to watch the big Lebowski, to use a movie analogy.

Being able to apprecaite one does not bar you from appreciating the other.

I played maplestory and eve at the same time, EVE for when I wanted a deep experience and maple when I just wanted to kill an hour in mmo solitude, with no brain or emotional investment.

I enjoyed both, but in different ways.

Besides, I am old enough to not care what people think of me.

I play what I like and peoples view on that is far less then inconsequential.

As with all "slander" it only has a point if the people you target care about what you say.

And the wow people are easy targets.

But then again so is the cult of eve followers, in fact they are even easier to rile up then most other.

Well, I don't think you'll have a problem with Eve'ers on this one, but the WoW'ers I'm not so sure. In my mind, WoW'ers with this mentality are kinda like catholics, I'm going to quote Dogma on this one, because I love that movie

Serendipity: "I have issues with anyone who treats faith as a burden instead of a blessing. You people don't celebrate your faith; you mourn it."

I'll probably get beat over the head with something very hard for saying this, but in a way I think WoW'ers have the same mentality. A lot of them I know hate the game, or Blizzard, but they will not leave either. Just like a lot of catholics I know are catholic-to-the-end, but they don't go to church and swear more than an angry rapper.

I personally see no problem with playing two games at once, I do it all the time. It helps to prevent boredom! More power to you!

MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

Hey, in the end, unless someone is giving you the $15/month..they have no right to say what you do and do not play.

If you can play Both eve and WoW, more power to you. I started a fairly lengthy thread some time ago about how many MMOs players can play. The main limitation is not cost of subscriptions but the time. WoW is one of those games that can really suck up a lot of players time and thus preventing them from really engaging another game.

I can imagine the conversation...

In Eve if you mention you play WOW, it goes something like, "Hey NOOB moron...go back to WOW"

If you mention you play Eve in WOW it'll go something like "What's Eve..."

But do you play them at the same time?  Think about it.  Some MMOs are actually fun if you do something else while you play them.

If you the means and the time I say... enjoy.

Both great games, but lots and lots of future for both worlds, great people in both games.

Just wish I had the time to play one game now-days; let alone two.
