Hi propably the most ask question on the froums.  I'm playing Eve online atm and loving it, but I wouldn't mind a game that was a little faster pased and a fantacy setting just to brake up the quiet times in Eve.

Like WoW but got board as it was only about improving your character, there wasn't much more to it than that.  Which has always been a proplem with blizzard RPG's Diablo was the same and the same simptom is seen in WoW.

Like DnD online but hated the Eberon setting, it should have been The Forgotten Realms setting. The PvP sucked along with the clostrapoic feel of the game world lots of quests but again not much more to do than just improve your character.

Loved Neocron but don't think it's running anymore, and if it was must be very dated.

Loved Star Wars Galexcies till they messed it up by making Jedi a starter class and balancing it with other classes. Loved the idea of building your own settlements and equipment production etc. but  all the grinding to lvl got a little boaring after a while.

Basicly I want more from a game than just trying to make the biggest, hardest, character I can, to then go fighting in arena style battles. That gets lame very quickly and games like WoW, DnD, Guild Wars when boilded down ammount to that.

So with a bit of background on what I liked and didn't like would I like LoTR online.

Eve rocks! If you don't like it your a a 12 year old, or have the mental age of one, with the attention span of a goldfish! We are so glad your not screwing up the greatest MMORPG to date! Or of course you just might not like this kind of game ;D ...weirdo’s!

there is a free 14 day trial you can DL and try it out for yourself. I am prolly identical to your playstyle. I played EvE and LOTRO, one for the depth, one for the combat/story, so you might enjoy it. I would definitely say try out the trial...and the graphics in LOTRO are amazing imho, just like eve

Yeah try the trial...I think it will be a different side to MMOs that you might like. Alot more casual. What I say about this game is that it is more about the journey than the destination. So take it slow and enjoy it all, read the quest dialog, explore, see the sights. It makes it a much better game in my opinion.

you'll either love it or you won't like it yet you won't quite be sure why you don't like.

Sounds like I'll have to give it a look, but I've heard it's a bit like eve in that wya you'll love it or hate it.  Is the Trial free DL, or do I have to buy the game to get access to a free trial?

By all means, download the trial and see for yourself.

But keep in mind that LotRO, while being a good game, is in no way revolutionary - it's a well-made classic fantasy MMOG, it's very easy, it's very casual-friendly, it's completely linear in the way that nothing your character does will have any effect on the game world, it's mainly a PvE game with a bit of PvP thrown in. That said, it's still a good game and I enjoy my time in it - but get your expectations rights, because you won't enjoy it when you expect something else.

Dude, i suggest you change your signature, as it screams of immaturity, and it's also pretty rude. Just an advice.

(BTW, I have no problems with EVE, I just happen to hate gankers and insane penalties....)

From the very little info you give us its almost impossible to answer your initial question.

LOTRO might work for you, as its alot faster than EVE. In LOTRO you progress your character too more or less - its a simplified WoW clone from that point of view. The difference is the epic book quests that you can unlock - maybe you will like that.

Else i'd suggest Tabula Rasa. SciFi again but not like Eve.

Tfy the trial and enjoy ;)

It's only offensive if you are 12 year old or have the mental age of one, and yes it's a bit immature.  I'm a 28 year old computer geek, who love computer games. I'm a big kid like most men who love computer games.  I just happen to have the for sight to know what I am and have the confidence in myself not to see it as a bad thing. In fact it's a good thing! Old 'mature' individuals tent to end up as stuffy, ignorant, bigoted and blinkered relics of a by gone age. Like Obi-Wan ;P.

That being said it's a JOKE dude! Get a sense of humor, the last line should have made that quite clear. Sorry if it wasn't I know that humor can be hard to pick up on in text format. Especially sarcasum...oh wait are you from the States? ;D if so I love you guys.
