Age of Conan

I got a chance to go over to my buddy's place and gave the AoC beta a whirl.  I have read all the negative crap that people have been spewing all over these boards among others and I was somewhat concerned but I still didn't want them to influence my opinion.  I spent the day playing with an open mind, without any prejudices and I had a great time.  Granted that I've only played for a short time compared to some other people out there but from what I've seen the thing looks great.  It ran smooth on my friends comp with an average of 60 frames or more, no lag, and the loading times on Tortage were not all that bad.  I understand why there are loading screens for the INN now and it makes sense to me.

From what I got to experience thus far I'm quite pleased.  I'll go spend another day or 2 over there just to get my barberian a bit higher and see some of the other stuff out there so that I can better formulate my opinion but I'm glad I checked it out for myself.  I will more then likely buy the game when it comes out if it's anything like it is so far.  With any luck the minor bugs I experienced will be fixed in the next 2 weeks and more frills and fluff will be added later for added effect but it does not really matter to me.  I enjoyed the game play and look forward to seeing what the PVP is like.

Glad you found it to your liking however, with that said, the above highlighted shows your hypocrisy.  You call other people's opinions "negative crap that people have been spewing" then go on to say that you played with "an open mind, without any prejudices"?  I would suggest that you are extremely biased and prejudiced and that you prove as much with your own words.

yea i was thinking the same thing. i stop reading at the end of the part you highlighted but, i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that a love affair between him and the game made up the rest of the post.

Something both sides of the debate are guilty of is refusing to believe the other may be right also.

There are people who are having major problems running the game.

There are also people who have had no problems at all running the game.

Each side has its resident trolls and flamers who refuse to see that both sides can have equal merit, and instead vehemently try to prove the other side as liars.

Don't call him out because you have poor reading comprehension, It's not hypocrisy or biased if he states it after he tried it. This post came AFTER he played it, therefore the "negative crap" comment is a result of his fun experience. It's nothing but his opinion, but since it seems that you take it as fact... that's your problem and you decide to flame him for it.

just jkin' with ya fion, but what I'm saying is that I agree greatly. A game's a game, and the same goes for 50 bucks if it sucks (which I doubt, but whatever happens happens).

Yup...Age of Conan is quickly becoming the Age of Drama...gawd ppl chill n just wait a few weeks n try the game n stop scrappin like a bunch of kiddies.

I don't think it's a "bad" game per se, but it was definately disappointing to me due to what I was expecting, and I've been playing since closed beta.  It's VERY apparent that this game is being built both for XBox 360 and PC, hence the more controller friendly play.  Does this make it a bad game? No, but I will say that it will scare off some of the PC market.  No real worries though, it'll make it huge on XBox 360, which will more than make up for any PC player losses.  Am I a bad person for saying such?
