Jesus Christ is Lord.

Here's just a quick idea to throw out into the pasture... I got it from when Vanguard first launched before the VG team got "the boot." Before the big server merge in VG, there was a server named Varking, which was a "Team PvP" server.

What I'm getting at is, for those who don't like carebear PvE servers, but also don't like to die every so many seconds, perhaps have a race-based PvP system. All three races vs. each other. It's still competative, having 2/3 of people still against you. Again, just a quick idea to find a middle ground for hard-core, yet moderate PvPers

SCIENCE PROVES CAPS LOCK CAN CURE CANCER.

Well, the people FC have been marketting to in the first place were hardcore PvP players, and it seems that is what they are dishing out. I can see how they could do this with some servers to please people who like a sort of "semi-carebear" server, but I would not like that for every other server. I personally (as does a huge amount of people wanting to play this game) like being my own man, and like the possibility of attacking / being attacked by anyone I come in contact with, excluding my guildmates. It just makes things much more entertaining, especially when doing PvE missions. To me, I'm sort of an "everything" player... some people like PvE, some like PvP, and some like doing everything of both, which I think I can fit myself into nicely. Combining the two really makes the regular cookie cutter missions (as sadly they are pathed, but what MMORPG doesn't have pathed missions?) much more challenging and entertaining to me. It won't feel as much of a grind to 80 as I'll constantly be immersed in PvP while doing PvE stuff. Obviously, I'm talking about the PvP servers, but then again, that brings me back to what I was talking about earlier...

...it is nice to give people choices. Such as spellweaving. I most likely won't be playing a spell casting class (possibly a ToS eventually but unsure) but I'm glad to see it's there for the people that want it... and someway or another it benefits me anyway since I can guarantee I'll be playing with a LOT of spellcasters. The same goes for the servers. The PvE servers for the people who don't like world pvp, and the RP servers for those that like to... roleplay, go figure. I know I won't be playing on the type of server you suggest, but I think it is a good idea for the type of people who like that, therefore I agree with your idea... just so as it doesn't act as ultimate basis for PvP.

The theory of evolution is as much open to doubt as the theory that the earth goes round the sun.

I personally think a server with worldwide "rvr" (which really means faction based pvp), but FFA in border kindoms, would be nice. this way I only do ffa when I want to, ie go to BK, and so dont get ganked whilst questing. but am still under threat and can pvp whilst questing, just less ganking. but still can FFA, since I like all types of pvp.

the problem is aoc is not set up for faction wars at all. they;ve made the game already and making factions would me a complete remake of alot of the game. so i really dont see it happening.

What if it is? But still not? Is it still the same as it were before? Perhaps it is.

Sounds like a fun plan, but it won't happen as much as I know how the game has been developed.

Create 3 factions for people to join.  That way no extra work has to be done to make sure the races are all balanced.  But then you're still limiting the amount of people you have to group with.

Otherwise It's probably a decent idea.
