1. The so called "open beta" is infact a fileplanet subscriber exclusive.

2. The open beta only allows you to get to level 13, which means you wont even get to the MMO part of the game. Might aswell be a singleplayer demo in that aspect.

3. With less then a month left to release the NDA is STILL in effect.

4. Online gaming sites have only been allowed to play under supervision and for a very limited amount of time, which effectively limits their reporting to whatever funcom wants them to report.

5. Countless beta leaks on various forums (of which many are consistent with other leaks) stating a plethora of issues with the game and that it is not ready for release.

6. Where are the ACTUAL siege movies? So far all weve seen are video demonstrations and not fraps recordings of two real beta guilds sieging it out. Not even a screenshot!

7. Its funcom. Remember Anarchy Online? Dubbed by many to be the worst launch in MMO history(possibly rivaled by dark and light).

8. Lucrative yet expensive pre-order deals (read: siege mounts) usually means the devs are out to make a quick buck before the shi* hits the storm (a'la dark and light).

9. The amount of information released on one of the game's biggest selling points is vague at best, looking more like a showcase of its potential then what is actually implemented right now. Yes im talking about sieging.

10. And last but not least, its fanboys. Ive noticed a trend in games that fail soon after release and that is; the crappier the game, the more rabid the fanboy. We saw this trend in Vanguard, Dark and Light, Pirates of The Burning Sea and DDO. All of whom can be considered rather huge failures in terms of hype pre-release versus success post-release.

All these games had huge followings of rabid fanboys that would burn alive any critic of the game no matter how sounds their arguments were. This trend has become painfully apparent in AoC and unfortunately, its due to these fanboys that would rather flame and troll then question the developers motives of not releasing a full scale NDA-free beta that will ultimately doom this game.

 

 

 First and foremost, they are limiting the content due to the Storyline being so good they didn't want to give it all away at once (Least this was what they said.). Level 13 is more then enough to Sample the games gameplay (That's right, an MMO with gameplay! You don't click and watch!).  The NDA is in effect for that exact reason too, to avoid spoilers before the Game is released.

 

And rewards for pre-orders have ALWAYS been part of MMOs, not just this so I honestly don't know what you're getting at here. And before you go calling me a "Fanboy" yes, I like the game. Woopdeefuckingdoo, honestly if you're going to classify us at least take into mind that you're no better then us. If you're not preaching for this, i'm sure you will/have been preaching for another in the past.

Got to keep in mind that they have said on many occasions that they have "Nothing to hide" and they truly don't. I'm sure this game will be successful and a lot of fun (Heheh).

do you guys actually think the NDA will hold through next week with all the fileplaneteers playing lol, if it does i would be surprised.  Anyway NDA, and beta invites is no reason to cancel your game... it is just impatience on players part.  Besides i see my 2 preorders as $ to funcom to help fix bugs  DOOM ELSEWHERE i say lol

at the OP: STFU.

You are basing everything on funcom's marketing not their gameplay.  Basically what your saying is that if the game designers don't let you play every aspect of a game or tell you about every corner of their game world then it simply isn't good enough.  STFU.

Give it a rest OP. Why would i care about your reasons to cancel your preorder. As if you amount to a significant percentage. Even this whole site population is the minority of the minority. Which of course makes my post totally pointless :)

I've paid more for a blind date in the past. With almost certainly less reward.
