If only there was not an NDA i could explain how this is the first good mmo to release since WoW.

OH well!

Ya and of course the NDA drop will bring a ton of opposite posts as well. It s not for everyone hence why i said in my post IMO :)

Same for WAR too unless ppl Want a WoW with more pvp.

LOL, this i can assure you , you re wrong i know for a fact. The WOW part anyways

Really do tell plz? I am also in the beta.

Good for you. It s fact that i don t agree with you. Don t argue with me on my opinion because you can t win. I play it , enjoy it and feel it s not WOW even remotely close. If you feel it is i could care less. So hence i know for a fact it isn t to me. /sigh

Ok!

There we go :) Anyways i know some will feel that way about WAR nothing you can do about it, but as far as AOC goes it will not be for everyone for sure, that said OP is just rambling about really nothing and trying to cause shit:)

Oh yeah i know for sure AoC wont be for everyone.

Man people just can't get over a game that looks promising. There will always be haters amongst the bunch. But to type out stupid reasons why you want to cancel a pre-order is sad. Most of that information you could of easily found out when you pre ordered. So besides the whole file plant thingie, whats your beef? Oh thats right, its the file planet thingie. You could of easily just stated that, but then again why would you care, you canceled you pre-order. If you have been a file planet member like me for years, then  you probably happy. Why must you ask? Because this is the first time that 5/month has paid off. No ones PAYING for beta. We are paying for the options we got into when we signed up for a file planet membership some odd years or months ago. And it finally pays off. How awesome. If you are mad, and can't afford the 5 bucks a month, or 15 for 3/months or w/e. Then how can you afford the 15 a month for a game your whining about? All sugar, with no SUBSTANCE, yet again.

EDIT: and to the one who stated Fileplanet members mean nothing, we are gamers just like you. Just because we dont post on a forum board doesnt mean were better or worse than you at gaming. Comments like that only show why they dont post on these boards.

Through all of your hard work and effort you've managed to do the same thing hundred's of other people have been doing for months.  Is it so hard to let the game be judged when it is released?  Your parents didn't say you would be a troll when you were still in the womb.  You weren't judged that way until you were released and your actions warranted it.

Also there were many ways to get in open beta for free.

Example: If you use comcast  you could of gotten in there for free.

Personally i think there is nothing wrong with someone voicing their opinion , in a constructive way. I can t say i ve always been constructive but i try to be now:) To just come uot and ramble off crap is nothing more then a waste of time. If you have facts to back it up great but an opinion like this is your own and can t be argued but no one needs to see such rambling crap. Lol i m saying all this and normally would just ignore the thread but i can t for some reason :)

Nothing in the below post breaks the NDA in any shape or form, having said that, here are 10 reasons why you should cancel your pre-order ASAP.

1. The so called "open beta" is infact a fileplanet subscriber exclusive.

2. The open beta only allows you to get to level 13, which means you wont even get to the MMO part of the game. Might aswell be a singleplayer demo in that aspect.

3. With less then a month left to release the NDA is STILL in effect.

4. Online gaming sites have only been allowed to play under supervision and for a very limited amount of time, which effectively limits their reporting to whatever funcom wants them to report.

5. Countless beta leaks on various forums (of which many are consistent with other leaks) stating a plethora of issues with the game and that it is not ready for release.

6. Where are the ACTUAL siege movies? So far all weve seen are video demonstrations and not fraps recordings of two real beta guilds sieging it out. Not even a screenshot!

7. Its funcom. Remember Anarchy Online? Dubbed by many to be the worst launch in MMO history(possibly rivaled by dark and light).

8. Lucrative yet expensive pre-order deals (read: siege mounts) usually means the devs are out to make a quick buck before the shi* hits the storm (a'la dark and light).

9. The amount of information released on one of the game's biggest selling points is vague at best, looking more like a showcase of its potential then what is actually implemented right now. Yes im talking about sieging.

10. And last but not least, its fanboys. Ive noticed a trend in games that fail soon after release and that is; the crappier the game, the more rabid the fanboy. We saw this trend in Vanguard, Dark and Light, Pirates of The Burning Sea and DDO. All of whom can be considered rather huge failures in terms of hype pre-release versus success post-release.

All these games had huge followings of rabid fanboys that would burn alive any critic of the game no matter how sounds their arguments were. This trend has become painfully apparent in AoC and unfortunately, its due to these fanboys that would rather flame and troll then question the developers motives of not releasing a full scale NDA-free beta that will ultimately doom this game.

1. What a stupid reason. Did you not read the article/interview  with Funcom posted on this website? Funcom has little to no control over what Fileplanet does and when they do it. If you cancel your preorder over what some other company does, then you seriously have issues.

2. So what - you can only get to level 13. Its still a trial and open. You can experience the combat, the quests, the classes, the graphics, etc... I look forward to trying 4 or 5 different classes and leveling them and seeing if I like them. Outside of that, I will be able to get a good idea if I need to upgrade my computer.

3. They have already said the NDA will be lifted sometime after open beta starts. It doesn't matter when they lift it, as long as they do.

4. I would do the same. If I brought in a media company, I would give them a specific trial and under supervision. Whenever you deal with the media you do this because the minute you give them free reign over you, they will twist your words and product. (for further clarification, see how IGN got the story about the mini-games wrong this week).

5. Its a beta leak....enough said. If you trust beta leakers and disregard all of the good reports coming out too, then you seriously have your own biases towards the game.

6. Guess you don't look hard enough.

7. Yeah and how many years has its been? How many times has Funcom stated they realized what they did wrong and that they know how to not repeat it? How many games have truly had a great launch? I can think of maybe 2 or 3. WOW's launch was horrible, SWG's launch was horrible, etc....

8. Expensive pre-orders? You have got to be kidding me. Reaching for ideas at this point huh? Yes they want to gain as much money as they can by charging 5-10 dollars! They don't make you pre-order, you choose too. Nobody is forcing you. It is hardly a money making ploy.

9. Again not looking hard enough. I have found plenty of info about all aspects of the game. However its called RESEARCH and it takes time. Sorry its not handed to you on a silver platter.

10. How about the trolls? You want to call us fanboys who defend the game from trolls like you? Sure go ahead. But seriously come up with ONE valid argument. All of your points are your opinion alone and clearly state your bias. Fine don't pre-order. But there is no need to troll and make such a clearly trollish post about the game.

The ONLY argument you have the holds water is the NDA. Granted, I would be concerned had Funcom not come and said that it would be lifted and when. But since they have, I have no worries.

1. The so called "open beta" is infact a fileplanet subscriber exclusive.

- I think they should have given the access to those who pre-ordered. I agree fileplanet was not the best way to handle this.

2. The open beta only allows you to get to level 13, which means you wont even get to the MMO part of the game. Might aswell be a singleplayer demo in that aspect.

- Actually only level 1-5 is single player experience. You can team up after you leave Tortage jungle, which is the tutorial area.

3. With less then a month left to release the NDA is STILL in effect.

- Funcom does not release NDA for their product development. It will stay in effect even after the product is already live. See how they handled expansions to AO for example.

4. Online gaming sites have only been allowed to play under supervision and for a very limited amount of time, which effectively limits their reporting to whatever funcom wants them to report.

- Not sure what you mean, but this is pretty much how most companies handle it due to limited time they have to give in product demonstrations.

5. Countless beta leaks on various forums (of which many are consistent with other leaks) stating a plethora of issues with the game and that it is not ready for release.

- Might be some truth in them, but what I gathered from PvP beta weekend the game is looking pretty good already. Sure it needs a bit polish, but it is not in that bad stage as you seem to assume.

6. Where are the ACTUAL siege movies? So far all weve seen are video demonstrations and not fraps recordings of two real beta guilds sieging it out. Not even a screenshot!

- Dunno what to say. There are many other aspects of the game I would like to see as well. Siege in my opinion was quite well covered in many video demonstrations and now with the articles.

7. Its funcom. Remember Anarchy Online? Dubbed by many to be the worst launch in MMO history(possibly rivaled by dark and light).

- I remember it. It was awful, but if you had played in PvP beta you would know that the game is no where near the state AO was during the launch.

8. Lucrative yet expensive pre-order deals (read: siege mounts) usually means the devs are out to make a quick buck before the shi* hits the storm (a'la dark and light).

- Pretty standard practice. Why pre-order? Wait for first reviews. perhaps?

9. The amount of information released on one of the game's biggest selling points is vague at best, looking more like a showcase of its potential then what is actually implemented right now. Yes im talking about sieging.

- I am pretty satisfied with the amount of information available. Not sure you searched hard enough.

- Fanbois seem to plaque every game these days, not only MMOs. That is why it is best to leave overly negative or positive posts to their own light because the truth is most likely somewhere in between.

 - I signed up on AoC forums around as soon as they opened in 2005 and been following the progress ever since. However, stopped posting for a long time when "fans" arrived.  I really liked the topics and conversation there in 2005 and 2006. It was generic. Developers were actively participating and asking questions.

- You really should stop asking for them to release NDA because they will not do it. You can go through AO forums where they quite clearly state the company policy for it. It got nothing to do with motives, but their product development practice. And I agree with them.
