The NJE publish is one of the biggest events to happen since the NGE itself.  And I think the most potentially destructive.  It's one of the worst ideas since the NGE, and takes choice away from what little this most destroyed profession had.

Once the 9,999 NGEJedi realize they've been "Blixed" I expect a forum eruption of EPIC porportions.

I am very glad that Blixtev stuck to his guns on this.  He truly is the best possible lead for this game.  For those like me who seek "closure" as well...  closure for those of us hurt by the CUNGE fiasco.

This is definitely NOT a publish that will bring any vets back.  It's a publish that might potentially drive away LOTS of those who stuck with the NGE because they got Jedi without earning them.

Your post is both thought provoking and original. Nobody has ever suggested that we move on before! Do you have a newsletter I might subscribe to?

I have moved on.  I no longer hope for nor even really want classic SWG servers.  I play EVE.  I pretty much ignore any whining about CCP, because I've had it 10,000X worse with SOE.  I tell EVE players who complain how good they have it, that if SOE were running the game, they'd decide one day to make a Titan (a ship that takes years to train to fly and costs thousands of ACTUAL dollars worth of ISK to build, that if it dies, is gone, ala permadeath) a starter ship that is no more powerful than any other ship.

The NGE is a wound.  It was the worst injustice in the history of MMORPG's.  It NEEDS to end.  When the NGE closes down (note I refuse to call it SWG, SWG was the Pre-CU and CU game, the NGE is a new game) closure will happen.

I see this Dev team as particularly well skilled to bring that about.  Publishes like this one are a great leap forward for the conclusion of the NGE fiasco.  It's end. 

The MMO industry will be MUCH better off post NGE, ie, once it's GONE.  This is something that MUST die.  The industry can ill afford a complete (and continuing, see the NJE) backstab of a player base to thrive or even survive (as it's been barely doing for a year).  No, it must go.

The MMO industry needs trust to survive.  So long as the NGE lives on, and so long as SOE remains in the industry (they are only barely in it at this point, they are a minor player now, but I digress) after having done a complete betrayal of a quarter MILLION PEOPLE, people will be dissuaded from becoming MMO players because of lack of trust.

Yeah, it's as if someone printed the Sony "astroturf" playbook.  The problem for them is that disgruntled vets have logic and facts on our side, whilst the fanbois only have failure, deceit, and ad homenim on theirs.

Which is why they deliberately pollute threads (such as the EULA one) with flames to get it locked.

Funny how none of them seem to ever get banned, they repeat the same crap daily and are never stopped by the mods.
