ok, im headed off to college a few months after release and havent decided what to do about computers

i have a pretty powerful computer (decent in AOC terms) and i cant decide whether to slightly upgrade my desktop and buy a decent laptop (mainly for word, excel, college stuff) or leave the desktop as is and buy a really powerful laptop

so i guess my question is: what laptops (if any) could handle this beast of a game at medium-high quality, and would that run me more than a simple ibook + $400-600 of upgrades on my desktop?

I've always found the idea of a "gaming laptop" kinda silly, I mean you get so much more for the same money with a desktop.

Laptops are really handy for school, but you don't need it to do anything more than word processing and web browsing.

I'd get a cheap laptop and upgrade the desktop if I were you.

get a cheap $400 laptop (thats $400 AUD as i dont know how much that would be in America) and upgrade the desktop.  the best thing about upgrades is they are usually under $1000 (unless you need a major overhaul) and are easy to install yourself.

id have to say desktop you can build one from scratch for 1g and play on high, or buy a laptop for "gaming" for 2-5g and play on high for 2h's unplugged. plus the overall gaming experience for me is better when i can sit away from my tv/monitor and not have it on my lap, and if your gonna plug your laptop into a desktop monitor why buy one anyways lol

Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his brother.

Upgrade your Desktop I reckon.  The Victorian PC looks sweet: http://steampunkworkshop.com/victorian-all-one-pc
