The Original Hater

white lions use melee skills with a 2h axe to case effects.

they also have a pet kitty that deals damage along with you and can even grab agro so you can deal back and side possitional debuff attacks.

belladauna... your posts confuse me...

Why can't a class melee and have a pet?  it's not that difficulty

If they wanted white lions to do 1000 dps, say without a pet.  It wouldn't be hard to change it so he does 500 dps, and the pet does 500 dps(since if its befriending a white lion, instead of raising them, the fights in lore supposedly could last like a day, i don't see it being a 750/250 dps split, possibly a 600/400).  Not only would they be able to do combo moves and have tons of utility by having the pet, it would also be harder for people to keep off, since if you snare the white lion, the pet could still get to you and be doing 500 dps, perhaps stunning/snaring you while the white lion catches up.  Or even vice versi.

Heck they could have the same hp as other classes! both him and the pet! "wouldn't that be overpowered?" not really.  Since killing one would make the other half as strong, and tons easier(no combos, or support abilities).

Heck they could bounce aggro, they could take hits for each other.  both of them doing melee damage, and their abilities.

Ya know, I do not know if the White Lion will be the next class or not, and don't really care since I will more than likely play every class.  But this does make sense, and there is no reason why they could not balance out the pet and Player Character to not be over powered.  For those arguing that everyone will focus on the player and leave the pet alone... there have been hypothesis stated about the damage breakdowns (the 500/500 split, or 750/250) as well as people mentioning that the pet remains after the player dies.

To take the speculation a bit further, it would not be unreasonable for the player to do a 750 dmg as compared to the 250 of the pet... so as to leave the focus on the player and her/his skill rather than some AI easy mode.  It is understandable that if a pet that is a wild beast witnessed it's "Master" fall in combat its more beastial side would take over (Rage, Rampage, Berserk, whatever you wanna call it) and it would then take over the 750, or even 1000 ratio of the damage.  Would server as an incentive to take out the beast.  Not saying this IS what would happen... but it serves as a viable option for how they could balance the pet issue.
