my job is to comfort the disturbed, and to disturb the comfortable. |
i don't care for marriage, nor do i have the desire to ever start a family. i prefer living alone and coming home to a house that's silent. |

Everything is better with explosions. |
I have no desire to be married, but if I meet the right person I really don't have any reason to fear marriage either.
However, no kids for me. Ever. |

God made women because mens brains are broken. |
Been there, done that. It would take a very special guy to get me to agree to marraige again - liking my freedom to much - lots of hot guys and girls out there. Not that my ex wasn't great because he was. We just fell out of love is all, because our work schedules were so screwed up we rarely saw each. ::sighs:: We're still great friends though. :) |

I was engaged at one time to a beautiful sweetheart, then her Mr Hyde side came out. She wanted to party more, whereas I wanted to settle down and raise a family. So she decides to cheat behind my back and lie to my face when she got caught. Not only that, she "like most girls" are to controlling, demanding, and won't stop until they get what they want. Any half decent guy out there doesn't stand a chance of retaining any sort of control,,freedom of his own life if you will while with a woman that knows she's physically attractive. The freedom of being single is still pretty nice. The only way I'll give that up again is if the woman truly completes me. I'm not saying it wont ever happen, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Dating is fine for now. |

Originally posted by oakthornn I agree, I few of my friends got married in the past few years. Out of 3 only 1 is not on lockdown. The 1 married a nice chic who has the same interests as him, gaming being a big one. The other 2 married some nice chics but they run the house now. One couple even moved 3 states away to be closer to her family even though he has a daughter here. The other guy got married, had 2 kids, attempts to play games a few times during the week but his wife goes off on him about how the games aren't educational for the children. Crazy shit. I'm still undecided on whether or not to get married. I want a gamer chic like my one friend but I'm afraid after marriage I will end up on lockdown and be forced to sell all my fun stuff while she watches the View and Oprah everyday and starts sporting the short soccermom haircut and makes me buy a minivan or Suburban. |

Wuv and happiness... wuv and happiness... MAWWAIGE, is an INSTITUTION! Uh... what was the question again? Oh, am I planning on getting married. No. I have no plans to get married if by "plans" you mean I have some sort of scheme laid out. Would I get married if I found the right woman for me? Yes, I would. I didn't used to believe that I would, but now I'd have to say yes. But since I haven't found such a woman yet, the matter is moot. IMO, marriage is really a social/religious thing, and shouldn't be a legal/political thing. If it were up to me, the State would issue certificates of civil union to those who want to bind themselves together in the eyes of the State, such as for taxation and insurance purposes. The State should have nothing to do with the social aspects of it, let alone with any religious aspects. If this were done, you could, for example, be married by your church, but still be considered as individuals by the State, or vice versa, or you could do both. The eyes of God are not the same as the eyes of the State, IMO. |
