They have ITV, they have 5x speed speeders and vehicles, they can access their ship from every planet regardless of where it is docked, they now have a "homing beacon" which spawns them right in front of their house... And yet its not enough for them... It is these kind of posts that remind me what a good yet difficult decision I made when I cancelled. This game is becoming so rediculously shallow. |

Man, that is so disheartening. Will people ever stop rushing through a game and try living in a simulated environment based on a work of fiction? In other words, will people ever stop and smell the virtual roses? |

Yup, one person posts a concept on the forums and that instantly becomes indicative of the mindset of everyone who still plays. Beautiful generalization. |

Freedom is the will to be responsible to ourselves. |
Originally posted by Suvroc Fully agree, but....this was already going on pre-cu, remember the cries of people that spoke about the wait for shuttle, then people started to complain about buff-lines, nothing seems to have changed. At pre-cu it even was worse when they started to complain about the lag due to us truly playing hte game, for example COROLAG? Then we had the complaints about travel time. People back then and still today don't want to live their live's in a virtual world, this is the main reason why so many games......fail....they lack the community that has the patient to play these games, but it's far easyer to blame a game then to look at what the community is doing to our games. I still find it strange seeing people from SOE saying that the NGE was a mistake for not listening to the community cause in my opinion thats what SOE has done they listend to the community, the problem was that the vocal ones where the ones that already left the game there for more time to spend on forums to complain about the game. It wasn't Mcintre or whats her name that said "to much reading" it was a large portion of complaints all over forums all over the net that spoke of to much reading and she just told what was said already. Remember how much fun it was going out with a group of friends hunting and camping, bringin some combatants, entertainers, docs on our hunt, relaxe in a camp, then came in the inpatient crowed, they entered guilds or just random pickup groups but felt camps where boring and all needed to be rushed, they didn't want to spend time doing social things, all that mattered or started to matter is to grind asap to max lvl pure to say the max lvl, but most who grinded that fast always resulted in being bad players who never really got track of what they could really do ingame. I just wish back at pre-cu that we who where enjoying hte game would had spend more time on forums like i see them being used now, if we had we might have not gotten the NGE, but thanks to that vocal majority at pre-cu who already hated the game it all changed. I remember seeing good constructive post made by players which imidiatly got bashed by those not playing the game and most of the time a well constructive post got into this bash contest. |

Our guild spends time in camps now with ents and doc's getting ready for the instances, having a ITV in my opinion is great. I enjoy bounty hunter missions and NOT having to drive back 9k from a remote place on Yavin 4 is great, I can do more missions............. you know the fun stuff more often.

Originally posted by Gutboy Maybe it's just me but I liked waiting for a shuttle and liked the social aspect of it like waiting at a starport and dueling people and having a chat. I liked traveling across the planet and exploring abit and I liked having to go to shuttes whcih they increased population of players cities too. Now people Can isntantly use a starport shuttle or instant travel via the stupid game breaking JTLS expansion. The game was long gone before the CU even but all it took was common sense of how to fix it. |

Originally posted by vickypollard Vicky I agree 100%. Shuttle waits were one aspect of the game that made it more of a world sim, and less of a game. Most of the people I met Pre-CU were while waiting for a shuttle. Not only that, but the game seemed much larger back then because of the time it took to get anywhere (and that's a good thing). I loved SWG because the journey was as great a part of the experience as the mission itself. Not so much anymore. |
