Just a fantasy really but if that did happen then thats probably how i would react after 5 years of waiting for this game. |

Just put aside any fan/not-fan issues for the moment. What Darkfall promises is a very interesting concept loaded with features many players have asked for from other games before. So don#t you think that many of the people who are skeptical/negative towards the conduct of the DF Developers are actually people who -want- to see this game succeed but who are frustrated because they are being fed next to no information/solid facts except the all-present "It will be ready when it's ready, directly to play."?
Seriously, I think many people are just angry because the game promises so much, yet it fails to show anything. Yes yes, I know, they don't owe us anything, but what is their reason to deviate from the "normal" way of developing/publishing a game? Why do they use "Pro" testers (which will only cost money that won't be available for other things) and AI Bots (which no one can tell me are as effective as real people) for testing? Why do they refuse to come to conventions or at least invite credible sources to their studio to show them their game? Why not invite some serious Gaming Magazines and show them at least -something-? Why refuse to show more than just Screenshots and pre-arranged videos?
That's what people like me (and possibly others) ask themselves. I would -like- to see Darkfall come out and be what it promises to be. And if it does, I'll be the first to apologize for doubting the Developers (you can quote me on that if you want :P). But until then, I ask myself the simple question of "Why?" |

I didnt know your post history, and after your other post about a delay i thought you were a troll of some odd sorts, but now i see you just have a gripe with the devs.
Kinda like I have a dripe with the Darkfall Devs for this reason. They say:
"We dont have to prove anything cause when people play the game thats what counts!"
Then why show the game at all!!?!?
Why not just wait out the 7 years, and just release what info you have right now, instead of building people up for 7 years.
Take the Bioware MMO for example, you know why its going to be good when they release info about it?
Cause they havent released anything yet!! They are acutlaly working on the game first, and then once they actually have something they will put out some info on it.
Just like the Marvel MMO that is now Champions online, they waited it out and once the marvel version fell through Cryptic took it, spun it, and released info so everyone still knew what was going on. The info they have is great and you can tell they have something already just by the few screens and vids they have shown after only a month.

Originally posted by AmazingAvery Excuse me, but has any other game in development "put it's money where it's mouth is" as of yet? The only way to do this is to present the complete game.
And what is the number of videos or screenshots that amount a good PR? 2? 10? 100? 1000? Anyone with an exact figure? |
