but you have to admit. Baldur's Gate FTW.

To me the real tell tale sign will be funcom's position on dropping the NDA especially with it launching so soon.   WoW and LoTRO have really set the bar on not launching a MMO that is broken and if Funcom is holding off the NDA because they don't want bad word of mouth this game is going to sink fast.

On the other hand with all the hype and anticaption from a lot of MMO fans, good word of mouth could help this game coast to some impressive numbers.

Funcom already did drop the NDA in January for a few days and invited 18 press people around their offices not under NDA to report on how the game is coming along. (including myself :P )

So did u actually play the game for around a month in order to form an opinion? a couple of weeks? a single week? no?

Now u either dont know what the NDA every1's talking about is, or u are are trying to deceive people cause u are too much of a fanboy. Hmmmmm what is it i wonder?

On the matter at hand i think it is gonna be the biggest flop in history, unless blizzards screws up with the lich king update. Why? because even people who play the 360 are hyping it

It can't flop as hard as that massively-single-player game known as Vanguard (although my keyboard will never forgive me for the beatings it received.)

But as a beta tester of AoC, I wish they would do a Mythic and push it back.  That's all I can say.

LOL, now that was a funny joke.

Oh wait, was he actually serious?

NAH, that had to be a joke.

Nice 4th post buddy, showed alot about your MMO knowlege.

For my curiousity, what exactly were you basing your EQ launch knowledge against? Im guessing UO and Meridian since they were pretty much the MMO genre before EQ (i guess you could throw in Realms too but i dont think many people actually played it). Perhaps you were a UO lover and are saying EQ was shoddy because of that, thats the only reason i can think of.

haha I hope to god WAR will be a good game, otherwise we are screwed for 2008 MMOs. AoC needs to be pushed back and I doubt they are going to do it.

Its due for release in May, is it not ready? Warhammer has been in beta for awhile now and release has been pushed back as the devs think they can polish the game abit more.

I think AoC is the only big mmo being released this early. Wonder how good it will play.

Well you will get different opinions on that. Some, like the posters above, think it is not ready, claiming beta-leaks or being in Beta themselves as the ressource.

Others say it is ready, taking the Developers word and also sometimes claiming beta-leaks as info.

Really, at this point, we'll probably just have to wait and see.

I hope it plays well, I just preordered my collector's edition. Through all the doom, gloom and hype I just can't get over what I see for myself through the videos, screenshots and information from the FC site. This game has more potential than I have seen in a long time, of course, for a long time I've been hooked to WoW and oblivious to the outside game world.

I finally reached that mythical plateau in WoW where no skill whatsoever is neccesary (PvE) just gear and follow the instructions and spam buttons, I think this is the biggest draw for me to AoC, real time combat that takes some work instead of watching and hoping seems to be a big perk compared to my hunter spamming shots.

I broke away from WoW due to sheer boredom a couple of months ago and have since tried EQ2, which, I enjoyed, but was too empty for me. I tried LoTR which tasted like WoW. I tried CoH/CoV and just plain didn't like it. I tried Guild Wars, good game, again empty.

I really hope Conan can give me what I want, an MMO that requires some level of skill to play without being impossible to play. I saw a dungeon crawl video that the developer had to play in GM mode because he wasn't good enough. That makes me nervous, but maybe he's just a good programmer and crappy player.

Hopefully I get my 3 day early start with my preorder and I'll let you guys know what I think on the 17th of May.

i would nt be suprised if we see that release date pushed back like warhammer . as for the game and weather it ll be a flop . i remember lots of people saying the same thing about warcraft . also when warcraft first went live it was nt the smooth game it is today . i dont think it ll be the biggest flop in gaming history .....that was vanguard . nothing  could be a lot worse than that .
