Yeah, there could be some once in a lifetime game that doesn't lift the NDA and it's awesome when it's released but until then (and even after) I think people are justified being worried about the NDA not being dropped when it's supposedly going to be released... in a month.

Hey, I played AO at release, I know just how bad things could be and seeing as I've not heard anything yet I'll be expecting just that.

These kind of threads are pointless, mainly because human nature likes diversity and not everyone likes the same thing. Taking always into consideration that MMORPG companies are always first and foremost interested in producing profit for themselves and their investors:

• Different people have different criteria on what's failure and success.
• Some people will always praise a game, even if it's thoroughly considered a failure.
• Some people will always bash a game, even if it's thoroughly considered a success.
• Most people usually don't care enough for the conflict between the praisers and the bashers to voice their opinion.
• Most of the praisers and bashers falsely consider the silent minority as sheep or non-existent.

So why do I bother posting in this thread? I guess I had a morning brain-fart ...

Unless the game dies the first week of release, it won't be the biggest flop in MMO history, just the most recent, which really won't mean anything more than people are comfortable with doing the same thing as always without even looking for a change of scenery.

Not picking on any game in particular, just picking on human nature to find something and stick with it without even realizing how much of a routine it has become versus down and dirty fun.

its interesting reading some of these comments because i am in the beta . i m playing it on an intel pentium d 2.8 ghz 1 gb ram and an nvidiea 8600gt rig . its hardly a beast of a system yet it plays age of conan well enough at lower settings . obviously lots of players will want to play it on higher setting because it looks nicer but the average pc can play this . i d like to point out the same pc does nt play vanguard that well . i m about to upgrade the memory to 4 gb simply because memorys cheap and it will improve smothness of gameplay . i wont go into content but i can tell you its nowhere near as bad as some of you are making out . wait till may and see for yourselves . what the point in trying to kill a game thats in beta when most of you dont have a clue what your on about .

this game is no vanguard . nuff said

Strictly speaking, you're not supposed to say that you're part of the AoC beta. Well, at least not openly admit it. :)

Points at vanguard,alot of cash invested in that aswell and look how well it released.Your one of those people who buy expensive stuff cause you think that the more it costs the better it is ...

There seems to always be a thread like this about any upcoming mmorpg with a lot of hype surrounding it.  Usually more than what are on the boards right now. 

I remember numerous almost identical threads before WoW was released.  They are usually the most popular topic on the boards too.  People love drama.

It's impossible to say, but the devs are inventive enough to bring something new to the genre and so far it is looking like it will have an interesting future so I don't think it will flop as much as any of the previous cookie cutter mmo's with the same base game, but that promise a huge feature list which just isn't there at launch. 

Let's just wait and see and welcome some innovation in the genre no matter how well it is implemented.

Singsofdeath asked me what ive spent alot of money on. Ive bought and paid for the collectors edition the 1st day you could from Gamestop along with Prima guide and key set for Zboard. About a month ago i upgraded my power supply form 550watts to an 800watt power supply. I also upgraded my video cards from ATI 1600 running in crossfire mode to 2 X ATI 2600 HD XT's running in crossfire mode and upgraded operating system to 64bit Vista so all told ive invested around $ 1,ooo +. So i feel that i should be abel to ask some questions which i did on the AOC forums and
