<< There's a difference between a "bug" and a play mechanic that's not what someone would like it to be. >>

It's a BUG.  Blizzard has admitted that there's a latency issue and they've explained why it happens and why they can't fix it a long time ago.

I still remember AC1's godmode fiasco - some players had found a way to run in a way that they couldn't be hit with melee attacks from other PCs.  Many were campaigning that it wasn't a bug and shouldn't be fixed because they were just using their elite skills...  It's really weird how some people rationalize...

<< Just because there's more to playing than simply charging and beating your opponent silly doesn't mean it's a bug. >>

There isn't more to it than that.  What game are you talking about?  My 70s are a rogue and a warlock.  The rogue sneaks up and stuns/beats the opponent silly.  If the opponent trinkets away then he shadowsteps and continues to beat the opponent silly.  He may need to use his Cloak of Skill in there at some point.  The warlock fears/drains/dots the opponent silly.  My warrior gets to charge and intercept (well he would if he was 30th level but he's not so he only charges).  If neither of those work because of the latency bug, then he can't hit any class that can move at full speed while casting damage/cc spells and the warrior very simply dies.  Note that most classes can move at full speed while casting damage and/or ccs.  Warriors do have one instant ranged CC but they need to hit something before they can use it.

Note also that I was bringing this up just to point out that there are and have always been noticeable bugs in this very polished game (<= not sarcasm) and provided an example that is familiar to most.  I've read a lot of posts about this and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone seriously argue that it isn't a bug.

Another bug with charge is that it lets you get to some spots that you shouldn't be able to get to.  But I suppose for some people that's not a bug but a feature.  Vanish is also buggy, as is blink and pet pathing and...

I'd really like to see a game that runs on Windows and Mac that is more polished than WoW.

But they both DO work.  No where in the description of either skill does it say you should be able to continue to hit the player after they move out of CC, it simply says that it moves you into CC range which it does.  If the skill does what it says it's suppose to do, it's not a bug.  I got the following right out of WoWWiki's information on the skill which doesn't mention a bug at all.

"While Charge is extremely fast, the one-second stun only keeps the target in place long enough for you to get there. It's useful to interrupt spells when running into a battle that's already taking place, but if you want a running player or mob to stay near you, you need to use Hamstring or some other movement-restricting skill as soon as you finish charging. "

Use charge and then Hamstring, problem solved.

Latency is not a bug, its a fact of life.  Deal with it.

I did a google search for this and I did find a bug submission report on it for January 11, but no where does Blizzard admit that it's a bug nor that they can't fix it, so I don't know where you got that info from.  If you can post a link to where a Blizzard rep admits that it's a bug, I'll concede that it's a bug.

That requires you to be in melee range to hit (it used to be a 5-yard range which was effectively melee but now it just says melee).  Sometimes charges don't get you close enough to hit with anything.

Bugs are facts of life too and just because they can't be fixed doesn't mean they aren't bugs.  The problem isn't latency, latency is the excuse given for the problem.

Jan 11... this bug has been out there since the game has existed.  Blizzard's official responses are long gone, all that is left is people like me referencing them.  Go to the WoW warrior forums and there will be tons of people that will validate this if you really care.  Or you're free to disbelieve me but I really thought this was common knowledge.

Are you picking nits for a reason or are you trying to say that WoW is bug free?

Disclaimer: Warriors are great in pvp - charge and intercept work often enough that it is hard to kite them, and they have solid CC with hamstring + their anti-fear abilities make it hard for someone to scare them away.  Their big weakness is mages because they have too many snares.  Warriors don't desperately need love in any way at the moment.  But there are bugs with their (and other's) abilities.

It took me 5 months of casual play to make it to 70, and I did not encounter a single game-stopping or time-wasting bug. It is way more polished than any of the dozen other MMO's I've played... though I started playing WoW more than 2 years after release.

Edit: just remembered the vanish "bug" which Blizzard says is working as intended. So 1 in 5 months.

Wow is the first and only MMO for the most players, so they cant really assess that. Lotro indeed was very polished at release (but also very empty @content)

If you had 10 million members paying $15 a month (10,000,000 x 15 = $150,000,000 each month) you can see why Blizzard can afford to keep the thing "polished", as far as bugs go.

I think the reason WoW is so popular, IMHO, is simply because it had an excellent start out of the gate. The original launch, I believe was something like 500,000, which, I believe, is more than any MMORPG had or has.

I'm still not sure why it had such a great launch before most had a chance to play  it.  However, when you have that kind of fan base to begin with, spreading it word of mouth, it can only expand exponentially.

I personally can't stand the cartoony like graphics, obviosuly many love it, some don’t. That is why I didn’t play it beyond the first couple of weeks.

I mean how threatening can Tony the tiger really appear?

Gamer fanboi. All games are good and/or great, in their own way! Stop da hate and go forth and play!

I have to agree with alot of posters here. I may not play WoW anymore, but it has been the most polished and bug free game I have ever played at release.  The only problems I ever had were the first week after release due to all the people fighting to log on.  I can hardly blame Blizzard for problems due to overpopulation since they did reimburse time and quickly resolved it.

Current MMO: WAR Elder Beta
Rig: Q9550 (oc to 3.4), 8 gig ram, 500 Gb Seagate, 4850 Radeon, Asus P5Q Deluxe, Vista 64

No, WoW's not bug free, but there are some things that are tough to overcome, like latency issues, in a client server model.  Your disclaimer is basically what I was getting at.  I realize that charge and intercept from time to time don't exactly do what you would like for them to do, however you must admit that if the player that you are targetting is "on the move" then it shouldn't necessarily be a 100% hit type of thing.  There SHOULD (in my opinion) be a chance for the targetted player to avoid being trapped in melee by the warrior especially if they are continually moving around.  Mages and whatnot need to stand still to cast certain skills, THAT is when a smart warrior will use the charge or intercept to interrupt the cast AND engage in CC with the mage.  In my opinion there's nothing wrong with the skills and while I'm sure there are many warriors that would disagree, that in no way means that the skills are bugged.  There are other things that are definately problems that need to be
