How many advertisements did you see for Warcraft: Orcs and Humans before that came out? But then again, I guess that game wasn't very successful... As for the community... How many DFO community members have made posts on Warcry bashing AoC? How many DFO developers have openly denounced AoC? AoC is afraid of DFO. That simple. |

OK, let me tell you why RR doesn#t advertise on a broad scale. Because they don't reach their customers with that. RR's are reserved for those who can afford them. No need to advertise there. Are you saying DF will be only affordable by a select few?
And as for Warcraft...please do not compare games released in that time with games today. It was a completely different market situation. Games were not as popular as they are these days. Any comparison is null and void. As for the community. I repeatedly stated that both sides of the fence act irrational from time to time. DF as well as AoC. I would like to see that stop. But first, I would like to see people acknowledging that it's not a one-sided issue. if you take the time, you find enough posts of DF community denouncing the AoC Community and even insulting them openly. Just look for one of DF's biggest supporters here. |

Lets try looking at this from a different perspective real quick. I've read the statements made by the AoC dev and I read the Developer Journal by Tasos. Those of you saying Tasos never actually mentions AoC are correct, but somehow you know he was taking jabs at AoC right? Ok I think we're of that understanding. Why do some of you think he was taking jabs at AoC? Other than the AoC dev statements, those would more or less be a cause and not the actual jabs.

Why are you getting so defensive? |
