Then I went to 'that site' and found the screenshot of the in game notice... I honestly have no idea how they could put advertising like that in and still maintain an atmosphere that feels like conan. Unlike AO which is futuristic enough that people don't care, it really wouldn't work here. Only thing I can think of is, maybe an image or something in the launcher or when you are loading up for whatever they are trying to advertise. Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence. Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.

There was an interview about this matter posted on these forums regarding online advertisement. I clearly remember that the Funcom representative was adamant about no advertisements in AoC. Things change over time of course, but given the prior history of the company, they never put ads on the subscription paid part of their previous MMO, AO. So I don't see it happening in this either. Can't find it on the client to cross reference either.

I am kinda concerned about the info being collected though
