Gamer fanboi. All games are good and/or great, in their own way! Stop da hate and go forth and play!

Well lets see...Hello Kitty is already in development...so I guess Ill have to agree with the Western Space ala Firefly type setting, or native american, or aztec/mayan, or stone age, or even an egyptian themed one.  All of those would be refreshing for me.

Also:  KOTOR setting mmo

           Fallout mmo

GI Joe (80's version) would be a pretty cool setting

          Dune mmo

Current MMO: WAR Elder Beta
Rig: Q9550 (oc to 3.4), 8 gig ram, 500 Gb Seagate, 4850 Radeon, Asus P5Q Deluxe, Vista 64

Fanboi is not a word, it is just bad grammar.

I am still a fan of the high fantasy setting.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing an MMO set in a post-apocalyptic setting, like Fallout. Or maybe set in a world after a zombie holocaust.

Of course I would also love to see an MMO set in the Old West.

As many have mentioned above, I would be interested in an undead apocolypse type setting. It would be interesting, they could implement a system where when someone dies they rise again as a zombie, and then perhaps they can be revived. although I would give the players a bit of choice here so they aren't stuck being something they don't want to be. For example, a zombie is revived, they can either choose to return to a human state or not, as if the revive technique didn't work or some such. If it were made it should take some inspiration from www.urbandead.com, a web-based rpg.

I would also be interested in a Western mmo, it has massive potential and would draw in quite a crowd I think.

The number one genre I would like to see made into an mmo though is a gangster/mafia type game. Massive potential for a sandbox game in this setting. You could be a simple shop owner and someone could extort it, giving you some protection.

I could go on for hours about all the features and mechanics these types of games could have.

Would really like to see a good mmorts and/or an mmofps, not really bothered with the setting, story, or IP.

Clench all you want, it''s still going in.

Post-apocolyptic. And in a traditional sense, post nuclear wasteland. Toppled, ruined cities with mutants. Survivor groups that have fled to the sewers. Armored, weapon mounted ATVs and cars. A rising super-faction comprised of religious zealots determined to wipe out all that is not "pure".

Skill-based, with sandbox crafting, harvesting, and player cities, built UNDERGROUND in instanced areas that could be entered by anyone who lived there, or who knew the "password".

Harvesting could be a big deal in a wasteland environment.

Open PVP areas....with an "opt-in" function, where players could CHOOSE to be flagged upon entering, up to a certain level. Maybe make these areas give certain bonuses to the cities of the controlling sides as long as they were "held".

Crafted stuff would obviously be better than looted, since looted stuff would have been subjected to the elements for some time, etc.

Without having to render mass amounts of foliage, (being a wasteland and all) the game could have very large, open zones. This could make vehicles not only practical, but an integral part of the game. Maybe a large van or bus, armored, but slow, requiring escort. This could be set up in the field to act as a mobile base for groups to be able to re-spawn and sell  closer to the action. Think of the fun in PVP!

Ah well. We can thank WoW, I guess, for turning MMOs into simple, linear clones. So a game like the above will probably never get made.

A steampunk or a cyberpunk mmorpg are a couple I would like to try.
