I absolutely hate these quests. Not the ones that require you to kill a certain amount. That's a grind that, so far, I can take, but the ones where you must gather so many messages. Is there some kind of trick that I'm missing? I've had to kill a ridiculous 32 monsters before I got one message to drop. They usually end up being the only quests I have left to do and I have to wait until I level up to get something new to do. Because it's actually quicker for me to level up than do the quests. And yes, I'm doing the quests as I level. It still doesn't seem to be effective. I get that the rewards of Chaos Lamps and such are worth a nice penny, but come on!

I pray they either tweak the drop rate or decrease the required amount. I'll even take having to kill twice as many monsters. Cause hell, you end up kill at least that many trying to collect all those damn messages.

I like this game, but those quests are really starting to grate my nerves.

What do you all think?

If you are on a mob that has aggro, try aggroing as many as you can handel and use all your aoe attacks.  That way you can attack them all at once, and probly kill most of them at the same time, and i have had them drop a few at a time doing it this way to, not to mention its a good way to get items as well.  When i fist stated doing them it felt like forever but as you keep playing the go kind of quick.  one trick to do is look through all the avalible quests, and accept all the same type of quests, like kill x amount, and get x items from the same mob.  that will help with the helper quests to.

I try to do them more than one at a time, but sometimes I can't. With BM I can get up to four at a time, there's no point in trying for more since that's all I can hit. I do kill them relatively quick though.

And I learned stacking quests early on. I'm pretty good at figuring which quest takes you to which area to kill which monster.  Good thing too, otherwise I'd have to bang my head on the desk over and over.

Simple.. Don't do them!

I think I only did about 5, with high upgarde cores as prize, after that I kinda got bored and stopped doing them..

Save'em up and do them when you feel like it. There's no need to do them.

Quite frequently they are the only quests I have left until I level up. I generally do them when I'm in a good mood and can tolerate an impossible amount of grind.

I got the quest to get the messages from Bugdolphy (I think they're called) and got about 8 of those before I got the quest to kill 99 of them. tI took killing all of them plus an extra 15 minutes to get enough messages. Something is obviously wrong with these quests or they have a ridiculous expectation for them.

I guess every dev wants to put in grind to keep people playing.

Hidden helper quests are just a way for a crap load of exp and ether a core or lamp for a bonus...

and the BIG ones a HUDGE bostin honor....

they are ment to be hard and tedus and time consuming...

the ones that give like 3000 honor require you going into a D-card locked dungon and beating it multipule times usaly....

there nasty hard and time consuming quests for a hudge pay out.....

My sugestion..... skip them untill you need the skill or you get a lot off d-cards..

when you need skill... go grab one that gives you a lamp for killing like 100 mobs that are gray to you... and go blast the crap out of them, get a buch of skill ealy and get the quest done nice and easy....

Well I frequently have only these quest left to do also.  after a while of running into the same low  drop rate.  I decided to count how many monstors I had to kill to complete a mission.

So I chose the quest where you have to get 55 drops from moschyther queens in green despair.   My final count of kills before I got all 55 cards dropped was a grand total of 873 kills.   I leveled at least 4 times on that one quest I believe.  the monstors con orange to me, nice xp but way too many kills needed.  since I was wearing a less effective adept suit of armor, i couldn't take on more than 2 at a time though.  I'm a force shielder and can take them easy if I put on my level good armor....but  my adept equals out to about 20 skill points increase, so I if I had to kill a lot, might as well get some skills trained up in the process.

now I did it on multiple days as well because the first day, I got 1 drop on my first kill, then about 15 more in 30 minutes (was tired at the moement since i had played all day).  So continued the next day and got 2 drops the whole time I was there....2, yes a lousy 2 stinkin drops in a couple of hours.   I left and didn't come back for 2 days at that point.

3rd time I was there,  which  I had gained about  5 levels and now even with my low armored adept and occasionally my BM1 or Aura I could take 4 or 5 at a time....since I had cannons and lances, killing them was fairly easy.....I could keep them knocked down with lances and/or knock them back  with my shield throw...so didn't really need BM1 or aura much.   Plus I combo like a toothless dog...lol   it's all I do is combo.

So I'm about level 55 now and looking at the pattern these quest come out, I'm sure there will be one which probably require me to get 100+ of these item dropps from mobs.....I am so not looking forward to that at all.

One thing I think makes it really bad though is if you can't kill one mob fairly quickly, it feels very boring and long to complete the quest.   Beating on one monstor for 45 seconds to a 1 minute when you gotta kill 800+ of the buggers is draining and boring to say the least.

but when you get your skills up (probably master or better on swords or magic) you can fly througth the kills and even kill multiple mobs at once.

so for me, I think skill training swords or magic up to a higher rank where you can use cannon's and other AOE attacks (if your class has one) and can kill multiples at once...it goes much faster that way and more often than not I seem faster drops.

I never said anything about the dungeons though. I don't have a problem with them or the "kill 99 x" type quests. I use the dungeon ones like Daveynelord and throw on my adept and combo like I'm on crack.  So, the dungeons are okay to me.

Something I noticed though, about getting the quest later is that it seems that after I get a few levels passed the req level I'm not offered the quest anymore. And if I've had one and have gone a few levels up and I abandon the quest it still isn't offered again later. Why is that?

Choose only those quest that gives you items that upgrades your armor and weapon, The ones that increases your reputation, and money.... Not all of the hidden quest are important.

just do the quest list up from normal quest's that's the main quest list and if you don't like to make the Helper quests dont make them is it only your decision ... anyways my advice is to make them :)
