Right now I have a Dell 4600, P4 3.3ghz, 1.7 Gigs DDR, but with no PCI-E slots. My graphics card is a AGPx8 Nvidia 6200 256mb. Should I upgrade my mobo, and if so, to what? I want to use a modern day video card that isn't going to rape my wallet and will play these games at a very high frame rate and not look like total trash. I know most modern day cards are PCI-E, but im not sure if it'd be wiser to buy a compatible AGP card and just wait it out until my processor is becoming severely dated. Thoughts? |

It depends on how much money you have to spend... chances are if you upgrade your mobo, you're gonna have to upgrade your memory, CPU, video card, and PSU... pretty much a whole new computer.
although if you wanna just do the video card AGP cards are usually more expensive than their PCI express counterpart. Upgrading your video card alone might not even be worth all that much with that fossil of a CPU. Could you post your entire system specs for advice? |

There is a an online benchmark which shows what hardware you must have to play AoC. Try it Otherwise I think that you have to buy at least 2.5 - 3 GHz dual core CPU, 2 GB DDR II SDRAM and up-to-date videocard with fast GPU and 512 MB DDR 3 RAM. |
