I tried this game on release but it was not for me - just did not like the style. Do people still play this on mass or is it a small but dedicated community. I do not recall seeing many news features about it and this one has my curiosity up. I guess there must be enough subscriber revenue to justify the continued content support but I wonder if this code addition is quite simple to repeat and whether the loyal community that still plays can hope for, assuming they do not currently get, expansion packs and new content.
To err is human....to play is divine |

I tried to get back into this game but idk...the lack of events happening didn't spark the interest in it and this appearing is fairly late to the last one that happened. What the game needs is more content imo and more players. Yeah, quality > quantity but walking around in a ghost town full of npcs isn't neccesarily mmo'ish...after all mmo does stand for mass multiplayer online. Some argue the lack of redpills in Matrix Online is the same as in the movies but if the game was exactly like the movies, then why are their hackers within Matrix Online. Throughout all three movies, I've never seen redpills typing on a keyboard that magically appears and creating viruses... Yeah yeah, all mmo's need spellcasters but I'm bringing up the point of it not being like the movies. If this game had the same gameplay as Enter the Matrix & Path of Neo, no doubt will people play it. Also, it boggles my mind why they change the cinema for the game from actual models within the game to drawing that reminds me of the 70s Spiderman cartoon... |

I would love to give MxO another go. But as long as MxO doesn't support the latest hardware I just cant run the darn game anymore. I have a GeForce 8000 series graphic card (like many many others nowadays). And either I run the game under Windows XP and cannot do any missions due to excessive indoor lag or run the game under Windows Vista and suffer graphic texture distortion galore! And so far it doesn't seem SOE is caring one little bit about the lack of hardware support of this game and thus this game will be slowly fading away more and more till the plug will be pulled. Only way to try getting this game a new boost and attract new players is to start cooperating with NVidia and Microsoft and get the game working with the latest hardware. Cheers |

I would love a huge budget to back me in recreating an MMORPG based on The Matrix, because I think this was a major half-assed flop and pretty much an empty soulless shell of what it could have been based on the IP... it's too bad really... I was so disappointed with it I had to start writing my own stories/missions and ran a tabletop rpg for my friends based on The Matrix instead which was a lot more fun. I really wish MxO was much more than a crummy kung fu online wannabe... ![]() Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.
